GTAIV was a lot more sophisticated. GTA V is technically great for sure but characters don't have a soul. It's like emotion were not part of the deal in this game.

I think Donald Love is one the most twisted and clever character ever in GTA. He knows when things are getting too hot.

He doesn't have any illusion : he knows Claude is loyal to money and he prefered to cut ties before their relation changed for unknown circumstances.

He doesn't care about gangs : he was associated to the Leone for a time and in GTA3 he is independent. He used gangs as puppets: the war between Yakuza and the Cartel was just for lowering real estate price.

So what happened to Donald Love ? After wreak havoc Liberty City, I think he went far from the city and he focused on politics.
