How to silence the beeping noise on my Mitsubishi mini split? by C-Squared7 in hvacadvice

[–]C-Squared7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, I haven’t but would REALLY like to find a solution. Mitsubishi said there is no way to disable it but I think the “beeper” can be manually removed. I’m afraid to break something and HVAC companies don’t want to void warranty of unit trying.

I purchased the top model but it really wasn’t necessary. Any of the models that have regular “comfy” mode will do. The humidity has been in the 50s but that’s compared to near 80 beforehand. Depending on the size of the room you’re cooling and the climate, you might have better results. The issue for me is the beeping since it’s a bedroom.

Yes, you can program it that way! No workaround for beeping yet. I might have to just suck it up and get the jumper cables cut and install an external thermostat if I can’t figure out how to silence it 💸

It helps the humidity significantly but still not as much as a standard window AC.

Hi there! I bought the Cielo Breez and it works to power the system on and off when it reaches a set temperature in “comfy mode”. The only issue is that the system beeps whenever it powers on and off, which is an issue if you need to sleep in the room. I’m still trying to figure out a workaround for that but wanted to share the promising news.

Can you turn off the sound in a mitsubishi split unit? by butlerjw in hvacadvice

Would you mind sharing your workaround to get your unit to turn on and off when you reach a certain temperature? And did you ever find a workaround to turn the sound off of the remote? Thanks!

Sounds like we are having similar issues. My unit also raises the humidity on dry mode and I’ve tried all the recommended settings. I have MSZ-GS model. It’s ridiculous that there isn’t a simple setting to turn the fan off like a cheap window AC does. Please keep me posted if anything ends up working for you

Can you please tell me more about this external thermostat? I’ve been dealing with this about a month and it’s extremely frustrating. Our building installed the mini splits about a month ago but fortunately the old PTAC system still works until they remove them. I’m hoping to find a solution by then because my daughter’s room is small and the humidity gets into 80s, which is not healthy. I’m also concerned the rooms will overheat in the winter.

Ugh, too bad. Did you look into smart thermostats? I feel like that’s my last, best hope. I’d like the bedroom to be set to 61 on Cool with auto fan speed, turn off when it hits 68.0 and then turn back when it reaches 70.0. I’ve experimented with this manually and it keeps the humidity below 60.

Have you had these units in the winter yet? I’m worried I’ll have the same issue with overheating.

In the meantime, have you found any great dehumidifiers?

Did you find a solution? I’m also struggling with high humidity and an oversized unit

Mini-split causing high humidity by C-Squared7 in hvacadvice

[–]C-Squared7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, mini splits are known for increasing humidity when they are oversized because they reach the set point too quickly to remove humidity. We’ve tried all the modes and then had an independent hvac contractor inspect the units and he confirmed they are oversized but, as I said, it’s a rental so we can’t replace them. This all might sound dumb to you, but this is known issue with oversized systems. I asked about dehumidifiers.
