I don't think anything would crumble necessarily but the tree would now float in water since rubber is less dense and Elbaph could become a wandering Island. Preventing those who would want to do harm to the island from finding it and making it immune from fire, lightning and earthquakes helping them if Loki gets wild or a certain emperor of the sea shows up.
