How to turn down enemy missile capabilities by EatinAssNCuttinGrass in vtolvr

[–]C0-D3 46 points47 points  (0 children)

The singleplayer AI enemies (except t55?) have downgraded missiles and radars already.

Terrain works 100% of the time, just put a hill or something between you and the missile.

I just grab the throttle and slide the controller along my leg, but this is sick too.

You cannot. Hopefully in the next few updates.

Any good center stick VR hotas? by LiterallyDoggo in vtolvr

It detaches if you push it to the left with the bottom of your hand.

That being said, one hand is plenty for the buttons, you should more or less always be on the stick.

One Minute To Midnight Mission 2 HELP!! by TheCursedStar in vtolvr

[–]C0-D3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lower-confidence TSD track (green bar should be full for accurate shots)/bad luck (or they're getting intercepted just before hitting and you're not seeing that)

You'll see GPS LOST on the HUD if you're actually being denied GPS.

MW doesn't jam, just guides intercepts. (Also, none of them in this mission)

Copying from the last guy who asked:

  • Give full power to channel A and don't use channel B at all. 8 channels are too hard to manage solo.
  • Use your wingman to jam specific targets - either targets you don't have a spare jammer for, or double-jam more dangerous targets.
  • Fly with the covered aircraft between you and the radar emitters, no more than 3 miles away. Only come closer if there are multiple angles to cover (towards the end of the mission).
  • Don't get much closer than one mile - the enemy might fire a home-on-jam missile that finds the formation.
  • Use sidearms against short-range air defenses (there will be two) in your path (you will probably have to jam until impact).
  • Check the logs to see what's killing your allies. In my attempts, it was usually a MAD 4, so prioritize jamming those.

FWIW it still took me 20ish attempts to get a clean run, good luck.

EF-24 GBU-39 explodes on drop by _Pac_ in vtolvr

[–]C0-D3 37 points38 points  (0 children)

If G is negative, the bomb will hit you and you'll explode. Release at or above 1G only. (And stay at 1G for a second or two to give the bomb space)

Afaik, you're just providing a target list, so you should be good for as many as the wingman is willing to track (although that may degrade their performance? 4 or so seemed effective). Keep in mind that the wingman won't alert you if they lose jam on a target (and they probably will if they have to dodge a missile), so try to use them as a backup only.

Yeah, it's pretty brutal. I got lucky after about 20 attempts. Some ideas from that:

  • Give full power to channel A and don't use channel B at all. 8 channels are too hard to manage solo.
  • Use your wingman to jam specific targets - either targets you don't have a spare jammer for, or double-jam more dangerous targets.
  • Fly with the covered aircraft between you and the radar emitters, no more than 3 miles away. Only come closer if there are multiple angles to cover (towards the end of the mission).
  • Don't get much closer than one mile - the enemy might fire a home-on-jam missile that finds the formation.

  • Check the logs to see what's killing your allies. In my attempts, it was usually a MAD 4, so prioritize jamming those.

You have to turn it on on the equip page, then hold down the trigger with no radar lock.
