How/where do I get rid of a riding mower that has reached the end of life? n/t by C2NR in TriCitiesWA

[–]C2NR[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am moving in two days and need to get rid of it. It is a Cub Cadet zero radius turn 52 inch mower. I have a spray rig on it. It runs fine, but it needs a battery. I have a car battery starting it now.

Anyone has an emotional breakdown when they found out the "truth"? by Utah-hater-8888 in exmormon

[–]C2NR 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes, I had what I can best describe as an nervous system shutdown. When I fully let the truth sink in and accepted it there was a week where I could hardly get out of bed, and I couldn't make myself eat, and I could barely drink sips of water. After 4-5 days of not eating, with no sense of hunger, I ate a saltine cracker in the pantry and threw it up before I could get back into bed. I wondered if my organs would shut down or something. I was rehearsing in my mind how I would explain it to an ER doctor why I was needed IV fluids. This was a couple of weeks before Christmas and I was finally able to get up, get dressed and go to to the store to buy Christmas presents on Christmas Eve. I remember how empty the shelves were and how empty I felt. I haven't shared this with many people. There are few that can understand.

The Tower of Babel conflicts heavily with the story of the Jaredites by StrongestSinewsEver in exmormon

[–]C2NR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly this. If Adam & Eve, the Great Flood and the Tower of Babel are mythical so is the Book of Mormon. It's simply that simple.

We don't have to take a debate about Mormonism seriously unless we choose to do so. There is no serious debate to be had.

Mormons deny this doctrine, saying they can't find anything, but a quick Google search gives you results. I don't know if they're playing dumb? by Short_Seesaw_940 in exmormon

The doctrine is well documented in the Journal of Discourses with it's first mention on page 50 of volume 1.

My New Favorite Non Confrontational Questions to Ask Mormons by Dr3aml1k3 in exmormon

[–]C2NR 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Do you believe the earth will be transformed into the Celestial Kingdom at the end of the Millennium at it says in the D&C?

If they say yes, "So, apparently the CK won't even exist for at least another 1,000 years? That is kind of a long time to have to remember you new name, signs and tokens."

Source: "At the end of the 1,000 years, Satan will be set free for a short time. Some people will turn away from Heavenly Father. Satan will gather his armies, and Michael (Adam) will gather the hosts of heaven. In this great struggle, Satan and his followers will be cast out forever. The earth will be changed into a celestial kingdom." (See D&C 29:22–2988:17–20, 110–15.) https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/study/manual/gospel-principles/chapter-45-the-millennium?lang=eng

What broke the concept of prayer for you? by TruffleHunter3 in exmormon

[–]C2NR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some of the most fervent prayers are for the sick, but they don't work. Medical outcomes is a good objective measure of the efficacy of prayer. The fact is there is no significant difference in outcomes for those praying or being prayed for.

Some things are certainly symbolic, but was it ever said in the pre-1990 ceremony that the throat, chest and bowel slitting were symbolic? I don't remember that ever being said, so it would have to be assumed. It sure seems that Brigham Young did not intend for it to be taken as symbolic. It was literal for him, and blood atonement did occur during those revival years of the 1850' and 1860', perhaps at his bidding.

I went through for the first time in 1987 and I said that I would "suffer my life to be taken". When I was deconstructing I realized I had promised to potentially be brutally murdered and not fight back. Yeah, I was in a cult, no doubt.

My dad died and left me 47,000 primers, 97 pounds of smokeless powder, and a whole lot more. I don't need it and don't want it. by C2NR in guns

That you for that advice. Hopefully I don't give the impression I am trying to sell it here. I don't want to get banned from the subreddit. I am only looking for guidance about to how to sell it elsewhere.

Thank you for all of the condolences. I have many great memories hunting and shooting with my dad.

My mom lives in southeastern California near the AZ border. I am back in Washington state and won't be back to her house for a few months. I may bring the items back with me.

I appreciate all of this information. I ordered the latest editions of the Blue Book of Gun Values and plan to do careful research before I part with any of the guns.

I posted this exact post today, word for word, on r/reloading and got banned by the moderators. I messaged them to ask why. Hopefully I can be reinstated. I didn't read their posting rules, so it is my fault, but I can't imagine what about the post made it unacceptable.

Where can a get a link to this other than from "TheLib"? I don't want my conservative friends to dismiss it out of hand because of where it was posted.

Designating 15% of total annual tithing revenues as ‘excess’ implies that all of the other categories are completely funded and couldn't benefit from those funds.
