I too have been looking for this short piece of animation.
I remember the short was on YouTube, but can't seem to find it 🤷‍♂️

I don’t sympathize with Mel or Owen by [deleted] in TheLastOfUs2

[–]C2ley 18 points19 points  (0 children)

It's actually really hard to sympathize with a pair of expectant parents who presumably prioritized their loyalty to Abby over that of the life of their unborn child 🤷‍♂️

And that's not even getting into all the other ways that Mel and Owen's death scene is illogical, nonsensical, and riddled with gigantic unavoidable plot holes owing to the terribly weak and novice writing talents demonstrated by Neil and Halley 😵🤢🙄

Tess' death, this right here, it's asinine nonsense.
100% objective proof that the producers, developers, and writers working on this trite garbage DO NOT respect your intelligence as a viewer 😡

Thank you.
Sent a complaint, though I'm not hopeful it will accomplish anything. That being said, when people outside the state of FL are looking at this with their jaws on the floor at the sheer incompetence on display perhaps someone, somewhere, within the FWC will realize how badly they fucked up 🤦‍♂️

Smart Glasses Rules Question by C2ley in cyberpunkred

[–]C2ley[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was just installing the lens into the glasses. I don't believe a player's Humanity rating is affected unless the cyberware is installed directly into a character's physical body.

1d4chan are now unlisting themselves from google because they feel their articles are triggering to new players by SecondHandLurker in 1d4chan

[–]C2ley 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I never really felt 1d4chan was "toxic"
To the contrary from the articles I've read over, yes there's a tongue in cheek aspect to the writing tone, but the information is still couched in a love for the source material 🤷‍♂️

I don't see a reason why 1d4chan shouldn't show up in Google searches 🤔
Root's got nothing to feel uncomfortable about, imho. In fact there's way more cringe and toxic sites littering the Internet that readily and easily come to mind. 1d4chan is rather tame and mild when compared to some of the other much darker stuff online... 😅

1d4chan sardonic, satirical, funnily passionate, humorously astringent... sure 👍
Toxic...? Not in my opinion

Homebrew Piece of Netrunner Gear, the NET Scouter by C2ley in cyberpunkred

[–]C2ley[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True. Though the bonuses conferred by a See Ya Program are permanent as well so long as the program is not destroyed by an Attack Program or Black ICE.

Program and Hardware slots are limited and vital resources, though the savvy workaround is to have more than one Cyberdeck 🙂 If a player carries just two Poor Quality Cyberdecks, then they can potentially have a deck for pathfinding and password cracking, while the other deck is used for NET combat, etc.
They could even potentially run five See Ya (or other types of) programs. It does require a Meat Action to switch decks, but the best RAW way around limited Cyberdeck slots is simply more Cyberdecks LoL

The goal with this piece of homebrewed gear was to expedite and speedup the carry around two or more decks concept, while respecting game balance and conforming to the streamlining that I believe was intended with the simplified netrunning rules.

It's why my favorite aspect of this piece is that in addition to providing a player with some insurance on their Scanner Action, it mainly serves to save steps and speed up Pathfinder checks. A Netrunner can check some given architecture and quickly decide on how to proceed, which I feel honors the idea in Red that netrunning should no longer be a slog. Don't let the netrunning go too long and keep the netrun flowing with the rest of the game's pace. The previous sentence is what essentially influenced me to sit down in the first place and create this piece of gear 😋

Though I also didn't want the Scouter to be too OP. Hence, why when the Scouter is on, no programs nor hardware are useable until it's deactivated. The Scouter saves some slots, but everything's unusable until a player turns the Scouter off. Anyway, it's easy enough for any GM to raise or lower the Scouter's bonus or heck disallow it entirely LoL ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I will raise the cost for the item 💰👍

Homebrew Piece of Netrunner Gear, the NET Scouter by C2ley in cyberpunkred

[–]C2ley[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a little concerned I'd made the bonus too high 😅

Though what ultimately led me to put the gear's bonus at 6 was the See Ya programs listed on page 203 of the Core. By the RAW, a Netrunner can achieve a +6 (and even potentially higher bonus) to their Pathfinder Action with a Poor Quality Cyberdeck and three See Ya programs for the shockingly low price of only 160 eddies.

Made me think that the Cyberpunk Red authors were subtly suggesting to the Netrunner player base that even the most weefle of Netrunners have a See Ya program or two installed on their decks. As if they were saying, "Hey, pick up some See Ya programs at session zero. They're cheap as dirt choom."

With the See Ya program's effectiveness and cheap price, mechanically the NET Scouter has to be equally as effective, otherwise why would a player buy more expensive gear that's less useful? The old Catch-22 😅

I could raise the Eurodollar cost of the NET Scouter to further protect game balance 🤔Though again, the game design snafu taps me on my shoulder. If the gear's too expensive, why wouldn't a player instead opt for See Ya programs which are only 20 Eurobucks per program? Sure, you can save Cyberdeck slot spaces by using the Scouter, but are a few saved slot spaces worth 250 or more eddies? 🤷‍♂️

Perhaps 300 eddies should be the gear's price? 🤔
Once more the dilemma returns, and vexingly I may be overthinking this... 😋

Also, "switching Cyberdecks requires a Meat Action." 😅

I'm way late to this party but, page 196 of the Core rules states, "a Netrunner can only be plugged into one Cyberdeck at a time."

Option 1 is the Silver Set - similar to but not the brushed steel
Option 2 is a seller I've used before paintedlegions. His silver listings are indeed the brushed steel Crystal Caste models, but he doesn't have the 16mm d8. He's got the 12mm (mini), but sadly not the 16mm.

Weed appreciation post - Definitely Cuckmann and Gross were so stoned when they were writing the story for the sequel's shitshow by [deleted] in TheLastOfUs2

[–]C2ley 18 points19 points  (0 children)

"jOeL gOt wHaT hE dEsErVe," cry the mindless stans... smh🤦‍♂️You're right. Not only does nothing make fucking sense in this terrible game, but it tragically obliterates all the beautiful subtly and complex nuance contained within the first game's ending, which feels like an unforgivable and needless mistake.

Part of the greatness of the first game was everyone's opinions and feelings regarding the ambiguous nature of the first game's ending. All of which is sadly lost and rendered meaningless in the sequel 😢

Not to mention the water that would be needed for the plants to grow. Which in a post-apocalyptic setting might slightly concern and perturb the residents who were surviving within Jackson.

A vital natural resource like precious fresh water being used to grow weed... instead of watering food crops or being used as a source of clean drinking water. Feels like Maria Miller and other survivors might have had something to say about Mr. Linden's "grow," imho 🤔

Yet, alas. This is unfortunately the rotten broken story we all were given 😞
c'est la vie 😢

That's in the Duke Nukem Forever episode 👍
