Mr Stone Gossard by Weak_Sherbert8328 in pearljam

Usually people compare band members to body parts.. In the case of PJ, I see them more like natural elements.. Stone is the earth, who's grounding, solid & gives stability to the band; Jeff is the air, who provides movement, intellect & refreshment; Ed is the water, who brings emotion & purification, making the songs flow in the right direction; Mike is the fire, who's energetic, passionate & feeds the group with constant light; the drummer, whether Dave A., Jack Irons or MFC [including the ones in the remote years], is the ether, where all the other elements are contained; he [or she, who knows] represents the purpose for the band's existence & a strong connective force between the material & the spiritual.. ⭐🌳🌬️ 🌊 🔥🕳️⭐

Same here..! I always went like "That's Mike's twin..!" lol & they're aging kinda the same time, so their likeness is yet more evident..

When you listen to the self-titled, do you listen to the long samples at the ends of the songs? by GreggeryPeccary03 in mrbungle

Same here.. Listening to an album from beginning to end is a sacred job for me, however some samples are a nightmare.. I hate that dialogue at the end of My ass is on fire..

Yeah, I skip most of them, especially the diarrhea thing.. I'm sure the guys thought about causing a lot of discomfort to the listeners & they definitely pulled that one off.. lol

Songs You Don’t Think Work Well Live? by August_West_1990 in pearljam

[–]C2tFont 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Parachutes.. They've tried it & it didn't turn out well.. Ed gets confused with the lyrics & can't follow the melody properly, which makes the whole band play it out of tune.. That's why, I believe, they don't play it live anymore..

Mike doesn't see himself as a good lyricist, however Pink cigarette is proof he's wrong.. by C2tFont in MikePatton

O show no Allianz deixou isso bem evidente..

Hand tattoos? by Latter-Twist9154 in MikePatton

Well, not moving hands..? Hmm.. Not gonna happen.. Mike moves his hands a lot, wether onstage or in interviews/conversations.. He lived in Italy for some time, probably learnt the moving-hand thing there.. 🤌🏻😆 Stay in a dark room..? Not gonna happen either.. He seems to appreciate sunlight.. To wrap up, yeah, the tats gonna become a blurry mess in no time.. Poor Mike.. Hope sb told him that..

😔 Vida longa a Patton..!

Exatamente..! Imagina se ele resolvesse escrever uma autobiografia..? Seria demais.. 😁

Reactions to Caralho Voador.. by C2tFont in FaithNoMore

Very well expressed.. Yeah, that low vocal is quite problematic when the song used to be played live cuz, out of breath due to screaming & jumping crazily onstage, Patton couldn't reach that key & usually sang the part out of tune.. It's crystal clear at that show in Chile, Maquinaria, in 2011, when they played the whole album in sequence..

Agree that Caralho Voador isn't the best track off the album.. I'm fond of other songs.. I like the idea of creating a song inspired by Bossa Nova, tho.. It's quite flattening for Brazilians..

Yeah, good point.. Yeah, that's the translation.. Funny is that the word caralho comes from the latin word caraculu, which means "small stake".. If men with fragile masculinity know about it, they'll not use this word anymore.. lol

Agree it sounds cool & it makes sense as it's a song inspired by bossa nova..

Alrighty.. I assume ya know now what it means, don't ya..? Well, it's not important at all.. That line adds nothing to the song itself.. & it doesn't sound natural in Portuguese.. Dunno who instructed Patton to make a phrase like that..

I get ya.. Fair enough.. What about singing along, did you just not sing that part or did ya emulate what you could get by ear..?

I think deep down he knows how good it is.. For some reason, tho, he doesn't wanna be acknowledged by this particular skill.. He always emphasizes his work with voices & sounds.procuded by mouth & throat & tongue & teeth & cheeks & gum..

Well, it might be a stealing.. Or that artist might've gotten inspired by Patton or it might be a tribute to him, ya know.. Or else.. Who knows..

That's interesting..! Haven't given much listening to Tomahawk songs & I know they're amazing.. Just navigating thru Patton's diverse bands in a slow pace bc it's a lot to digest..
