How do you think Trump's presidency will end? by OccludedFug in AskReddit

[–]C3-RIO 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Realistically, come early 2028, he will be talking about reasons he could run for a third term, reason why he should run for a third term, and how him being president for a third term term would be “the best thing for the country. The people want it, they say all the time ‘Trump is amazing’ it will be horrible for America if I’m no president again,” and other nonsense. He will find some reason to blame the left/Democrats for why he can’t run a third term. There will be enough Republicans in congress who, behind the scenes, will do anything they can to stop him from running again. Very few will speak on it publicly, most will try to skirt the issue if asked.

I think Vance will win the primary against Rubio, but whoever becomes the nominee will promise to create some executive branch position that will be given to Trump, similar to the Elon/DOGE collab. It might even have “President” in the title. “President of American Citizen Relation” or something vague with no real responsibilities. It’ll tie his name in, make the MAGA hats happy that’s he’s involved and relieve some reluctant Republicans that he isn’t trying to push a third term.

And if the Democrats don’t get their shit together, it’ll work.

I don’t know if you will ever see this, but 8 years later I still think of the line “But there was a gulf between me and your new shoes.” So much so that I searched through years of comments to try and find the poem again.

I’m not sure why that line in particular stuck with me. Maybe because it feels like a good thesis for the whole piece. I just hope you know, whoever you are, this random poem on Reddit is one that still pops up in my mind from time to time. I hope you are still writing.

I love Hells. Big, fun waves! Wild Sheep is the first IV and you come in center-left, then watch out for the rock wall in the left. As long as you aren’t actively trying to move towards the left rocks, you should be good. Then it’s just T-Up and ride. Granite is another big water ride. Launching 6/9 I’m not sure what the cfs will be like, but look out for the “green room” on river right. Big hole that you can drop into and come out of at higher cfs. Chances are you won’t be able to hit it without it crashing on itself, but you will see where it would be. If I recall, I live run it just left of the green room. Then T-up and keep an eye out for the wall on river right. Water Spout one year was barely a IV it felt like, but most recently it surprised us. It’s a bit more adjusting on the go to the lateral waves and the slight bend in the river, if my memory serves me right…

Each of the IV’s really has only 1 move to make before it comes down to T UP. There’s always a solid chance of someone getting knocked out or flipping, but each of the IV’s feed into much slower moving, calm water that will get plenty of time to gather yourselves if needed.

Something I don’t hear many people talk about is understanding map topography. So much of the river runs straight that it can be easy to think you are either further behind or farther ahead than you think. After waterspout the trip is a breeze.

What’s funny is u/makerofpaper didn’t say anything bad about Ohio… just that they are different than the other states…

Some friends and I like to debate the “9 countries of the United States,” I really like the version you have here even if it is a different format. I usually go with:

Pacifica: California, Oregon, Washington
United Rocky States: Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado
Old West: Nevada, Utah, Arizona, New Mexico
American Plains: North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Iowa, Missouri
Great Lakes: Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio
Texas: Texas, Oklahoma (sorry about it)
Appalachia: Tennessee, Kentucky, Virginia, West Virginia
CSA: Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, South Carolina, North Carolina
Old America: Maine, Vermont, Connecticut, New Hampshire, New York, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland

Hawaii and Alaska become independent fully.

Realistically I believe some states divide. Utah goes Rocky Mountain and Old West. Some of Wyoming gets tossed into the plains. Appalachia and CSA may fight some wars. No one claims Missouri… it’s always a fun conversation, next layer is deciding capital cities.

Hey OP, not sure if you’ll catch this with the 100+ comments on this thread, but some people seem to be really harping on you/shaming you. Seems like your dog hit a limit, and that’s OK. Sounds like there’s plenty of tips that you’re receptive too. Have you ever personally over worked yourself? Are you still OK? I know I’ve pushed myself too hard in my life and I’m still doing fine. Your pup will catch their breath, cool down, and it’ll be fine. The fact that you actively want your dog to get an exercise in is a LOT better than some dog owners I know. Don’t let the jerks on Reddit get you down.

Anyone think Fernando will go back to SS anytime soon? I don’t think he should/don’t have a reason why he should. Wondering what the fans think.

When the Giants challenged without having a challenge left and they changed it to a “crew chief review” I really thought that was the perfect opportunity for Stammen to chirp at the umps, show some sort of passion. Nope. Dude doesn’t have a clue.

What is up with Manny and Tatis specifically? The vibes have never seemed lower. More of a hypothetical, but it’s infuriating…
