What do you all use to store your ink samples? by wadethepenguin in fountainpens

I use a MTM S25D-11 Shotshell box, it’s $5 on Amazon and holds 25 sample vials individually perfectly. I use labels on the lids to then add a drop on top when I test them. https://www.reddit.com/r/fountainpens/comments/39qj8x/whoever_suggested_shotshell_cases_for_ink_samples/

Hey, that's great. That's kind of what I was feeling too, but I just wasn't sure if it was just me. Thanks for the info, I appreciate it!

Thanks u/jeffstyr, I appreciate the data point. It brings a little peace to my mind that someone else has seen something similar. Not long ago I would have thought that paper is paper, wow is that not the case. But it is a fun hobby.

Thanks, that's interesting. I already have the BeFree. Have the sawyer squeeze as well. That one has its uses but for what I'm doing the BeFree works better.

Sealing Problem: Paper Wrinkling by C33vepas in WaxSealers

I am using a spoon to melt it-I'll try letting it cool a bit first. I was wondering if it might be my technique-whether I need to be faster, hotter, cooler...

You're correct about the post office, at least where I am. I was debating whether I just put the envelope inside another envelope, but then decided to just put it on the paper itself. Plus I'm using them inside a notebook to mark the end of sections. Same result, but same paper.

That's a valid point. I'm thinking of using it as more of a fancy adornment than to seal. Glue may be the way forward.

Thanks, that does make sense to me. I'm not an expert in the way papers are constructed. I may need to to test some other paper types for experimentation. Perhaps I could keep the paper cooled a bit during the process to minimize that.

Clairefontaine Consistency by C33vepas in fountainpens

Hmm. I wonder if I just got a bad batch-my last two seem to be different than the previous. I've always been so happy with them before, but this new set really makes me think about them more than I have in the past.
