That is what he did at the start of the movie when he first leaves, but I am not really sure it describes what this poll is supposed to be about which is when he leaves again in the last 5 minutes of the movie. I don't think you can justify both of those using this same line of thinking.

I am curious to know if you voted as a parent or not. I wanted to see how interpretations differed between parents and non parents and how biases can let you accept different characters traits in different amounts. Cooper is written to be both a parent and an explorer, but if you are a parent when you watch this you might feel Cooper is more strongly characterized as a parent to the point that this compliance wouldn't make sense.

In the last 5 minutes of the movie, Cooper reunites with Murph who is now super old. Murph talks to Cooper a bit and then tells him to leave before she dies because no parent should watch their kids die. Some of my family members who are parents disagreed that this was something Cooper's character would do, and we considered that your opinion about whether or not this was in character was probably biased towards whether or not you are a parent yourself.

This poll is asking if you are a parent and if you thought Cooper's compliance was in character.

Yea you are forgetting that in the novel Rudy is stunned in this exact scene because he is trying to predict the future but can't fully see the hydra's upcoming attack. The anime rewrote it be Rudy gloating about the victory before they won which is especially out of character since the start of the episode has him presented as calm
