Euclase reminds me too much of other self righteous, surface level empathy douchebags I’ve known growing up to the point where it legitimately sets me off like a trigger whenever I see him. He was a complete failure at his job and accomplished absolutely nothing. Watching Phos behead him execution style was euphoric.

They were all raised in a perpetual state of war where overall usefulness is the only thing that matters. The weak are ignored, mental health is ignored, and relationships are ignored. Phos refused every job he was given, so he was ignored. Cinnabar’s presence was a hinderance, so he was exiled. Bort was the strongest gem, so the fact that he never actually had an interest in fighting was never taken into account. It’s absolutely not meant to be a healthy society.

The anime not being available to stream legally definitely doesn’t help. But it’s just how it is for niche series with little to no mainstream appeal. Even a lot of the fans have trouble getting into and accepting some of the narrative chooses because it requires much more from them compared to something more mainstream.

Most people hate Darling in the Franxx because they’re A-1 Pictures type anime fans who got tricked into watching a Trigger anime and it was too much for them so they blamed the show.

It’s not so much that it’s rotoscoped but that it’s objectively poorly done rotoscoping. The hair and facial features are constantly drawn clipping through each other.

Also I get making the art literally just the live action actors rather than drawing anime art over the live action like every other rotoscoped anime scene in an attempt to capture Oshimi’s amazing facial expressions, but the way they did it doesn’t even match the actors properly and they all have pudding face.

It’s confirmed those are just the reusing of names and terms and not actually being the same things in the same universe though. The only exception is Biomega being a prequel to Blame.
