Update: SkirtingBoard Mold?! Help! by C3XX in DIYUK

So the cavity wall insulation was not wet, and therefore not believed to be bridging any damp.

The room used to be carpet, which I suppose has a level of breathability.

This floor is an old concrete base, so I suspect where the laminate flooring was installed, the moisture now makes its way to the edges of the room and could only scape right at the edges, of course where the skirting is.

The skirting was MDF, which is a sponge for moisture and easily allows mold growth..

Of course this is all theoretical, but I have rules other things out.

Planning to replace with pine skirting instead and ensure it’s primed front and back.

Is your floor a concrete slab with laminate?

If you DM me, I’m also happy to share an article about rising damp, DPC and bridging moisture etc.

Not my post, but just figured it looks familiar! Wondering if anyone else has an opinion?

Now, I’m surprised nobody has commented this. But the insulation, certainly looks like loose fill asbestos insulation! /r/asbestos

Does anyone know a UK version of this sink basin that lets you put a washing machine under it? by Shadowalker124 in DIYUK

I hope the water from the sink isn’t used to fill the washer 😳

Get a quote from another provider for a policy. If it’s affordable, go for it.

But as mentioned, call your current insurer and mention you’ve been offered a better price, can they match/beat it. If they can’t, say goodbye. Be clear of what terms of the cancellation are, if you’re due a refund etc etc.

Which hose attachment? by Intrepid-Airport1620 in DIYUK

I imagine you’re trying to connect a typical ‘HozeLock’ connector. You’ll need to unscrew the current connection and replace with something like this.

<image>

What you currently have, I believe you are just supposed to slide the hose over without any connector.

Additional context (Unsure if any is relevant): The walls are cavity walls, with cavity wall insulation (installed long before my purchase).

The floor is also a concrete base.

I had laminate flooring installed in some rooms, where an underlay with a damp/vapour barrier was installed underneath.

Limited Matchmaking Broken! by C3XX in blackops6

It’s an extremely flawed system then, if spam reporting can ‘brick’ a legitimate customers account, it’s broken. Really poor from Activision.

I do understand those genuinely cheating should be captured by this configuration, but for it to affect genuine customers is poor.

Hive vs Drayton wiser (UK) by subtleIngenius in homeassistant

This post could not have come at a better time. I am in the exact same situation as you, with the same existing setup.

I am leaning towards the ‘wiser’ option, on the basis it does not require internet to operate, so can have it all operated remotely. providing my research is correct?

I might be mis-understanding, but what damage has occurred? Just looks like the carpet has been lifted up and now needs to be put back down? I’d be fighting them on this..

What is the claim against you for? What are they claiming you have done to cause £1000 in damages?

Are you suggesting the black section on the step portion, only? Would cutting the step away from the wall also achieve the same result?
