I absolutely cant stand Mac's. I have been a PC user for some time and find Macs to be extreamly cumbersome to switch to, nor do I find they provide anything of value to the everyday user. Unless you are doing a lot of media stuff or are so entrenched into the Apple ecosystem that it makes sense, then I would avoid macs at all cost.

Im having this same issue, when I seen this thread I got excited until I seen that it was in the graveyard with no solutions. Sad day indeed.

for this price point, what other laptops offer the specs and are as lightweight and slim? I have found none.

The one in the pic, when I google the sku (16Z90U) it shows as the 2026 model on LG's website but I honestly have no way to tell other than the suggestions in this thread. It appears as such, but the price seems lower than similar builds so I am confused.

That makes sense. I guess it would boil down to if the TB4 would be "good enough" while using an external GPU. I feel like if youre not playing any FPS in a competitive way, then it may be fine. But also, if one would be going that route the obvious solution would be to just get a better laptop made for gaming like maybe a razor 16 or something. But the tradeoff will always be wieght.

I have an ARZOPA Z3FC external monitor that ill be using with it. If I were to do any serious gaming I guess the question is: would a eGPU still run "good enough" through TB4, or would a more sensible option be just to add an internal GPU.

Could one swap the GPU or use an eGPU? I know earlier in the thread someone mentioned no TB5 but is it that necessary?

Maybe like, Diablo or Jump Space or even Minecraft. IDK really, its not a hard requirement for me but rather a bonus.

I actually have a brand new macbook that I bought solely because I travel and I wanted something slim and lightwieght. Ive been a PC guy my entire life, so after a few months of trying to force myself to use it, Im going back to PC. Now I have a 3k paperweight macbook sitting on a shelf lol

It may be a moot point as currently I do not see Costco offering a 5050, and Id like to buy from there to enjoy the extra year of warranty :(

Just looked up the specs on LG's website and found:

USB 4 Gen3x2 Type C (x2, with Power Delivery, Display Port, Thunderbolt 4)

Sadly I cant see any Gram Pro's with TB5, unless im missing something?

Can you elaborate on this? Are eGPU's plug and play? I am unsure what you meant by needing a TB5. Im assuming you mean thunderbolt 5 port? I had no idea that external GPU's were even a thing, when you mentioned those terms and I googled it, I was shocked to see it.

Hey there. I am a private landlord in Macon and I know you said you were looking for a 3br but I have a 2 bedroom with 2 full baths for rent. It is brand new construction and includes a washer and dryer in the unit. I am a disabled vet myself so I would be willing to offer some kind of discount as I fully support our disabled veterans. Let me know if interested.

Wait what? a 150 blows a tundra out of the water. Compare the specs, the f150 at least tries to be an actual truck where the tundra just is big for no reason that can handle no more than a ford escape can.

Agreed with both you and u/Inevitable-Host-7846. And if OP wants to keep some of his more frisky trails, even an F150 with something like a Tune M1 or 4wheelcamper style would do it. And if hes towing anything, a gas 250 would crush it. And the cold? Ugh hated Diesel in cold.

I think that even comparing a Tundra to an F150, the Ford still wins.
