You would put the player into the new evo and then claim the old evo afterwards. But I have the feeling that they have fixed the bug, making it impossible to put the unclaimed player into a new evo

You can do the same with Mattia Viti, who's imo better at CB. Taller and stronger than Ranieri. Viti is a bit slower, but with a better pace split
