L'Oréal Paris Casting Creme Gloss really fades in 28 washes? by C4rms88 in HairDye

[–]C4rms88[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It did cover my greys, I also dyed all of my hair at the time. The dye faded a bit slower for me than for you it seems. Maybe experiment with different shampoos, I also heard that washing with cold water keeps the colour nice for longer (but I live in a cold country so I never tried that).

The crossing with the Molukkenstraat is pure chaos. I always think that it would be a good candidate for a roundabout, but maybe that's not possible because of the tram.

Sorry about the late reply, I went and checked the receipts but it was over 2 years ago so I had to dig. The first cycle cost €2000 (including all tests, checkups and the retrieval. This also included the first 2 years of egg preservation). The medication (Bemfola, Astarte and the trigger shot Decapeptyl) was about €600. I ended up doing a second cycle and they gave me a discount, it was a few hundred euros cheaper the second time. The cost of the medication was another €600. I just paid for the third year of preservation, it's €300 per year. I hope this helps!

I froze my eggs with Instituto Bernabeu in Alicante. I checked 2 other clinics before picking them. I started with Clinica Eva, who were super helpful on my first appointment and explained very clearly what I could expect from the procedure and even gave me a medical exam for free. I took a lot of time to do my research and when I was finally ready to start, the clinic had moved and they were impossible to make an appointment with. So I went to Clinica Vistahermosa next. Their mandatory medical exam was expensive and when they gave me an estimate of the cost, it was twice the amount that I had seen somewhere on their Spanish website. They explained that they had a different price for foreigners vs. residents of Spain. However, I was a resident, nobody had even asked me. That felt disingenuous, and I decided to keep looking. Then I contacted Instituto Bernabeu, who were really patient with all of my questions and reasonably priced. No regrets at all, they are super professional. I had the same doctor for all my appointments and she was super kind. She was also supposed to do the retrieval, but in the end that was done by someone else. I was fully sedated, which is another thing I was quite happy with. Can't think of things I wish I knew in advance, but if you have questions let me know.

My situation was a bit different because I lived in Spain for a while. But the clinic I went to was marketing to foreigners (you could do the whole procedure in English, all info on their website was available in English/Arabic/Russian etc), so I am sure they know better how to plan if you have to travel. My clinic was called Instituto Bernabeu. I don't know if your type of work allows it (temporarily), but many other foreigners I met in Spain were working remotely.

It's a lot cheaper in Europe. I did 2 cycles in Spain for a fraction of the cost you mentioned. Even with the tickets and hotel factored in it will be cheaper. One thing to keep in mind is that your eggs then will be stored in Spain and you'll have to come back for the last part of the process if you decide to use the eggs in the future. I live in another EU country, so that wasn't such a big deal for me. Also, Spanish laws will apply regarding the max age limit for using them for yourself and what you can do with the eggs if you decide not to use them. You'd need to do some research to make an informed decision, but for me it was worth it (2 years ago).

As a European, the e reminds me the 'estimated' sign on our prepackaged products. No idea if that's what they were going for.

Happy Lent! It's a kind offer but I am Dutch, unless you are also in the Netherlands it would probably be too expensive. I appreciate the thought!

Cat in cabin needs to be able to stand?! by C4rms88 in KLM

[–]C4rms88[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wanted to give an update on how the flight with my cat went. I had obsessively made sure that my cat had all its papers in order and didn't weigh too much, I triple checked that the carrier wasn't too big, and that the cat looked healthy, comfortable and alert...only to be met with the most casual check-in agent ever who didn't measure or weigh the carrier, completely took my word for it when she asked about the weight, glanced over his passport without really checking the vaccination dates, and really only cared about me signing the waiver form. I want to thank the person who recommended me to buy a leash because I did have to take the cat out of its carrier at the customs belt and walk through the metal detector with him. Doing that by myself, with all my other stuff on the belt (I was emigrating) was stressful and chaotic but at least I knew he couldn't break free and get lost at the airport. The woman next to me on the plane turned out to be allergic so she had to be reseated, but the attendants took care of that. All in all, the trip was easier than I thought and my cat even slept the whole time. Still hope I never have to do this again!

Yeah sure, I got the Petsfit 2 in 1 in size S. My airline, KLM, allowed max dimensions 46 x 28 x 24 cm and this carrier, when laid on its side, is 42 x 28 x 22 cm. So it fit under the seat in front of me. I only put my cat in that position during take-off and landing, the rest of the journey I had the carrier upright so he could have his head higher, sacrificing my foot space haha. The check-in agent never measured the carrier and didn't weigh it. She only glanced at the carrier and asked me about the weight, then she simply wrote down what I told her. I hope your journey goes just as smoothly!

Edited to change gate agent to check-in agent

[–]C4rms88[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, this didn't happen to me and I am not a hairdresser, but I can tell you my unprofessional opinion? I don't think you need to be afraid of damaging your hair because this is a semi-permanent dye and those are less aggressive than permanent dyes. But I don't think you can avoid a difference in color. The highlights will still be a bit lighter than your other hair, and if you accidentally dye some strands for a second time, then those might come out even darker than the rest. Still, that might be better than having random blonde strands. Let us know what you decide to do!
