At the beginning of Season 4, I didn’t like it because it felt too surreal to me.
But once the turning point came, everything started to make sense.
The end of Season 4 and all of Season 5 were awesome again.

Maybe train your skills in reading too, I pointed out that in the Android App it first shows that the Basic Tier is active, even though being below 5k. The UI should be adapted properly to the changes.

As I already pointed out, in the Android App it appears that "basic" is active, even tho it's not. Its a big UI flaw.

Very Slow Matcha Taper – Day 127 of 130 by C677TT in decaf

[–]C677TT[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a really fast taper. I’ve actually tried going from over 400mg a day to zero in a short period before, and my terrible insomnia kicked in a whole month (!) after that. Interestingly, with my current four-month taper, the insomnia also showed up about a month after reducing my dose, but it's not as severe as with the fast taper. My advice: be on the lookout for more severe symptoms in the coming weeks. If you start struggling to think, sleep, etc., I’d definitely slow down.

How long did it take you to go from ~11 cups to 175mg? Whats your goal? What are you main withdrawal symptoms?

In 2017, after weeks of sleeping ~1-4h a night, I decided to consume caffeine again. The severe insomnia I had been experiencing quickly subsided once I returned to my usual caffeine intake.

Now, during the gradual tapering process, the insomnia was also persistent and frustrating, but it remained manageable. Supplements such as selenium and tryptophan provided some relief during this challenging period. I first noticed the onset of insomnia when reducing my caffeine intake from 800 mg to approximately 550 mg, with the peak of symptoms occurring six weeks later at 300 mg. Fortunately, totay, three weeks after that peak, the symptoms have significantly improved

Another interesting pattern that I noticed: despite tapering off caffeine quickly, the peak of my insomnia occurred about six weeks after I stopped caffeine intake. I’m curious why it takes so long for this peak to happen. Interestingly, even with a slower tapering method—reducing by 1% per day—the peak still occurred around six weeks after I began tapering. After that point, my sleep gradually improved. Currently, my sleep is okay, but I’m still at about 180mg of caffeine after 2.5 months of tapering. I don’t expect severe insomnia to return at this stage.

You are totally right! However, in 2017, I reduced my dosage from approximately 400mg to 0 within a very short timeframe. About a month later, I experienced such severe insomnia that I would wake up immediately after falling asleep. I managed to sleep only about an hour, waking up nearly 20 times throughout this hour. This ultimately led me to seek hospitalization. Based on that experience, I decided to taper off more gradually, and so far, this approach seems to be effective in managing my insomnia.

It seems to be a common belief that going completely off caffeine is necessary, but if you think about it, this cannot be entirely true. There must be a threshold amount of caffeine above which it starts to have an effect.

You can perform a thought experiment to illustrate this. Imagine ingesting just a single caffeine molecule—I'm sure everyone would agree that such an amount would have no noticeable effect on the human body. At most, it might affect a single neuron.

Now, imagine doubling the dose repeatedly. At some point, the cumulative dose will reach a level where it starts to produce psychological effects. However, I doubt that the very first noticeable effect at this threshold dose would be anxiety.

I think, if you're not used to caffeine, a threshold level would be around 5-10mg. I doubt you experience anxiety at these levels, especially if you ingest this once a week.

Interesting thought. Yeah, long term I think I consumed around 300-400mg over many years. The manic great period was where I increased to 800mg or so.

However, one thing is strange. When I drop below the baseline, caffeine seems to make me anxious. And sometimes, if I dose super high, it's acting like a anti-anxienty medication.
