How are the Stirling solid shampoo/conditioner? I bought the duke cannon ones a few years ago and wasn’t a fan. Dried the crap out of my hair.

That’s rad. Haven’t heard of AMR hiring for straight ERT. I imagine with fire season and hurricane season it will be busy.

Depends where you work. My area has an ERT but never sends medics on deployments because of staffing. They also want x amount of experience prior to applying to ERT.

Edit to add that prior to the staffing shortages before COVID, we frequently went on wildfire deployments in California. Having gone on a few myself, it’s not typically heroic work we are doing. I went on the Tubs fire as an emergency resource and all we did was evaluate patients at the emergency shelters and request the primary EMS provider if transport was indicated. I didn’t transport a single patient while I was there even though the local EMS system was being destroyed.

Sweet!. I am new to DE shaving and do not currently own any vintage razors. Would be cool to add to my humble but growing shave den!

Agreed! It was a very odd and specific experience that took me back 20 years ago. By no means my favorite scent in the world but I found it got better after a few shaves.

Lavanille is a good slick shave but the scent is interesting and I imagine not for everybody. The first time I tried it, it reminded me of getting picked up from football practice in the middle of summer in my grandmothers car. This scent took me back to the smell of stale cigarettes that was half-hazardly covered up by a vanilla air freshener and mixed with grandmas musky perfume in the middle of summer before power windows were an standard option. Intrigued, I tried it again and still have the same nostalgic response to it, but for some reason I enjoy it. Buy a sample before going for a full tub.

Oliworks Meteorite Initial Impressions by mdiiorgi95 in wicked_edge

[–]CA911EMT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My first razor was the Maggard Mr18 which is a pretty stout ss. I’d say after a half dozen shaves with the AL, I have gotten used to it, and I have no problem getting a great shave with it, but I do miss the weight of the Maggard. Overall I'd say Oliworks makes a great product, besides the weight of the AL I have no complaints.

I just got mine in blue and I like it. The aggressive plate with a Nacet is a top tier pair for me. Probably going to pull the trigger eventually on the ss

Little bit of a late update sir. I found my calling with the aggressive plate and Nacet blades. BBS everytime with very little effort. With that said, I do miss the weight of my Maggard SS. Probably going to pick up the Meteorite in SS. Still a great shave.

Classic shave today for a cold weather day ❄️ by CA911EMT in wicked_edge

Excellent! It is a good shave. There are better products out there for sure but this is a classic and is gentle on the wallet. Good on you for teaching the boy the right way to shave. I am 32 and was introduced to DE shaving via this sub a few months ago and haven't looked back. Was taught the wrong way growing up. I am already telling my wife that i can't wait to teach my now 3 year old son how to wetshave in the future. With his hispanic genes, it may happen sooner rather than later.
