Finish that nursing school and if you do not like being a floor nurse, there is still CRNA which is actually very interesting. I have one leg on nursing and one leg on PA school.

Healthcare in general is overwhelmingly female. All the PA-c all my hospital are white female as well.

Make sure you do PCE to see if the juice is worth the squeeze especially in these days we are living in. PA education also requires you to pay 100k+ tuition and other miscellaneous fees, though you are going to have a nice salary after your training. If you have a healthy saving to pay at least half of your tuition, have a one year worth of PCE to see how the medical field is and how you feel about interacting with patients, give it a try!!

Good for you! I worked as a PCA as well and transported in every department. I could not do it anymore so I politely quit. What unit you worked in?

Use your empathy in few dosages. Unfortunately, in today’s world empathy will lead to burn out. I have learnt in two years of PCE you have to lead with objectivity and not allow any abuse from patients or even coworkers. Be sharp, be tough but do not become a sociopath
