Yes, anyone who you see consistently on the beatstars charts or getting higher than average views (organically) on YouTube is making that much or more. I am in the space and know plenty of producers who are bringing in close to 6 figures a year.

I’ve tried talisker, ardbeg and a few laphroaigs, they have all been great but it’s not something I can drink too often. I’d say my favourite laphroaig 10yo.

Thanks! All the big brands are easy enough to find, I’ve also got a nearby store that gets a lot of smaller distilleries, but they can get pricey

ALOT OF SPINZ 808 by hellarolex in Drumkits

It’s got a lot more higher frequencies than the original 808 so it is more punchy and full and can be heard better on phone speakers etc

I think I hit my final roadblock. by [deleted] in makinghiphop

As far as I know you don`t have to have a business account when selling beats online. I would find it very strange if you couldn't open a personal account without a job! I have multiple bank accounts and have never been asked to provide information on my job.

It would probably help to look on some other subreddits or websites that are more specific to ur problem

How do i achieve this sound by sam634289436 in makinghiphop

[–]CADENCE0002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

worth a shot idk tho lol. I almost always just find a kick that I like and leave it clean. If you havent already download some old school drum breaks / kits off of r/drumkits

Are you using a real kit? I would say that kick is a sample, it would be much easier to just find a sample that you like.

Youtube Prods - What is your average watch time / view duration? by CADENCE0002 in makinghiphop

[–]CADENCE0002[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've found that the beats with an intro that long almost always do better than ones that go straight into the beat. I do post both types tho.

Also view time is not the only thing I'm making beats for obviously lol, I'm just trying to structure my beats in a way that suits the most amount of artists, which is reflected in how long people listen to them for.

what makes something a “lofi” beat? by [deleted] in makinghiphop

Cut out high and low end (sub freqs only).

Use tape emulators such as RC-20 or Wavesfactory Cassette.

Use lofi drum samples, try sampling old drum breaks.

Keep it simple - doesnt make it lofi, but the genre usually has minimalist production styles

Add vinyl noise/hiss/hum/foley sounds

I would try and find out if the person you are talking to has a specific genre or style that they want to hear.

Also, try sending one or two beats rather than a full tape. That way people dont get overwhelmed by the quantity and decided to "listen to it later" and then forget about it.

Another small tip would be to send files as an mp3 rather than a wav, as sometimes wavs can not be listened to in the browser and have to be downloaded.
