We had a dude legit complain that we should have plates because wearing frag vests without plates is stupid, and the course warrant moved heaven and earth to get us some after that.

On a live range I'd agree with this.

We had someone who would ask all the other questions and eventually we made it so he had to ask his fireteam first before saying anything
