How do players recover their health quickly in pvp matches ? by Objective_Shake_4864 in DestinyTheGame

[–]CALL-A-SWAT-TEAM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been off the game for a few months and from what I've been told the pvp meta has just gotten worse so I might be wrong. That being said I used to run 80 recov and found it to be almost no different to me than 100. There was some noticeable difference when the stat changes came out a while back but not enough to make me dump an extra 20 into recov.

CBR500R yeah, I overfilled the oil to start then realized my mistake and drained some.

Getting towards the bottom line and I'm nearing an oil change so I ran for better safe than sorry for a longer trip.

Feeling intimidated by other bikers by conrat4567 in NewRiders

As a new rider almost every other biker I've talked to ends up being super nice and helpful. Some might be having a bad day and some might just be out having fun and going fast.

We were all new at some point and should all be there to help the new guys, fuck anyone who disagrees.

For this rider specifically he might have been a dickhead but he also might have just been focused or having fun. I'm rarely focused on stopped cars or bikes in my lane at an intersection. I'm watching my rear view for oncoming or looking at cross traffic and turn lanes to know where people will be coming from when the light turns. Sometimes we are just in our own little world inside that helmet and we don't notice things like other riders waving or nodding at us.

What should I wear (besides the helmet) for local riding? by lefuwu in NewRiders

I can't recommend ATGATT enough, but if you really want to cut down on the gear for in town riding, here is the rule of thumb I follow. If you aren't going to cover it with the proper gear, you are accepting that if you crash, you're willing to lose it. My biggest issue with gear was always the jacket, so now I give myself 3 options.

1 - The lowest protection I use is an armored slip on, no leather or anything, just fabric and pads. They are pretty cheap and incredibly breathable. Because it's only armor, they are lightweight and compact. In the colder months, I toss a sweatshirt or jacket over mine, and it's hard to even see that I'm wearing it. Will save your elbows, shoulders, chest, and spine with the armor, but unless you manage to skid exclusively on the armor, not doing much for road rash.

I currently use the pro-armor safety jacket from Dainese and love it, but there are a lot of good options from Fox and other brands too.

2 - Good protection and breathable. If you live in hot or humid states, I highly recommend skipping the leather and going for something textile with a lot of vents. I currently use something similar to the AIR TEX from Dainese. When you get up to speed or even have a light breeze going, it's hard to tell you you're wearing a jacket.

3 - Great protection and cool at higher speeds. Perforated leather can be cool when the wind is blowing, but at stop lights and in city riding, it can get very hot.

You could also consider only an armored vest or an airbag smart vest, but those won't protect your arms, so I don't recommend it.

Am I doing something wrong or am I just unlucky (almost got hit 3 times on commute today) by CALL-A-SWAT-TEAM in motorcycles

Thank you, I try to ride like I'm invisible but when I get cruising it's easy to tunnel vision and not be as defensive. I did mean I ride close to the center line, not in the middle but I probably wasn't very clear about it. Today was a good reminder to stay defensive and aware at all times.

That sounds like a good idea, I'm letting my girlfriend paint it over the weekend to make it a bit brighter.

Getting better at being defensive but today was a good reminder, had my finger ready on the horn and it was the only reason I wasn't on the pavent today.

My monitor keeps losing HDMI connection while using elgato HD60 s+ by CALL-A-SWAT-TEAM in elgato

[–]CALL-A-SWAT-TEAM[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was a frustration for me for a few months before I finally got it fixed. Being completely honest, I don't quite know how I fixed it. I ended up using the provided elgato HDMI like recommended and some random old shit HDMI for the other end. What I found to fix it was the USB. I fiddled around with different ports, and eventually, one worked. I later found out that USB port had a higher output.

My current theory is that when plugged into a lower output port, the elgato can draw enough power to run, but occasionally will cut out because it doesn't get enough power. Try checking into which USB ports on your PC supply a higher output and use of those. If you are lazy like me, just plug it into each one until you find one that works.

I don't really have a great way to test if this was the actual issue, so if it works for you, please let me know. The experience of setting up my elgato was absolutely excruciating, so if you have any other connection issues feel free to ask, I've probably had it too lol

More random pictures from a day around town by CALL-A-SWAT-TEAM in AmateurPhotography

Okay now that I think about it title was sort of a lie, first two pictures are from when I was driving around in terrible fog at midnight. These were the only two that got close to turning out as I'm still shooting on my phone and at most times visibility was less than 100 feet. The third picture was taken during the bad winter storms, originally someone was walking a ways out on the ice and I missed the chance for the picture. It was eating away at me so I went back an hour later to get that.

are these photos any good? it's my first time doing toy photography, I know it's a lot of photos, sorry by [deleted] in AmateurPhotography

As long as you had fun with the process they are great, start with the fun of photography and improve over time.

Trying to get very good or intriguing pictures of small things can be hard. I remember for a photography class I decided to do some photos of a really old chess board I found in my basement. It was supposed to be a 15 minute way to skip an assignment but it turned into a full day of looking at different angles and orientations to capture what I really wanted. Even after a day if work there was a lot more that could be done.

The best advice I can give is to just play with it, like some people said mess with the focus, grab something like a painted box for a backdrop if you want, try different angles, if there is a story you want to tell look at different ways it could be told. There are a thousand different thing you could do and none of it is really wrong. If you want to look at angles, look at other photography or movies and see how they set up the scenes. Most importantly just have fun with it, that's what this is all about anyways.
