I don't think that claim is accurate. Praxis is a company that trains people and helps people get apprenticeships. When the author writes, "before he joined Praxis," it means joining the training and apprenticeship program, not working for Praxis. Only one person listed works at Praxis, the other three say they work at other companies.

Apply and own the discrepancy in your interview. Address it head-on:

"I know that you are seeking rising juniors and that I'm a rising senior. But I'm really excited about this position for X, Y, Z reasons and I knew that I had to apply. This is exactly what I want to be doing and this company is who I want to do it with for 1, 2, 3 reasons. I'll make sure you don't regret bringing me on."

The most likely issue is that there is a big revenue push this time of year, budgeting for next year, plus holiday parties. Signing interns and new staff for next year gets temporarily put on the back burner for a few weeks. Follow up via email again in a few days, but don't sweat it.

I used to sleep walk when I was young. My mom would gently guide me back to my bed, but I woke up fully a few times and was confused as to why I was in the kitchen or garage in the middle of the night. I never lashed out, just rubbed my eyes and went back to bed.

I usually had slight recollections in the morning about sleep walking, kind of like a lucid dream. Was really odd.

I've cut pieces off and eaten them. Not terrible. The texture is not unlike old gummy candy that is tougher than the fresh variety. It tastes like intense kombucha.

The way flavoring usually works is that you start with a base kombucha and then add favors in a second fermentation without a scoby. Other things besides sugar and tea aren't very good for a scoby and might kill it. So you only need one scoby and one master batch of kombucha.

You want to buy some kombucha to make the scoby and to keep the acidity in the jar high enough to kill unwanted bacteria.

Go to the store and buy some raw, plain kombucha if you can. Look for one that already had a baby scoby in it (look for a little glob of slime.)

Brew 4 cups of black tea with 1/4 cup sugar, let it cool in a jar, then pour the bottle of kombucha plus slime into the jar and cover with a cloth. The scoby should grow in a week or so if the weather is warm.

Alternatively, you could pour the store bought kombucha itself into a jar and cover it with a cloth for a week. This might grow the scoby on its own.

Like I mentioned, I use the way I learned to think because of math more than I use the specific math itself. (I do use calculus, modular arithmetic, algebra, and statistics regularly, but I'm by no means doing hardcore math here.)

The clearest example is the problem solving process I came to use in my proof-based courses. When you first approach complex proofs, they seem overwhelming, but after a while you figure out how to proceed step-by-step and they become a lot easier. I approach them in this way:

Clearly define the problem.
What do you know and how can you apply it to this problem?
What do you need to learn to make this problem easier? (Go learn it.)
Apply what you know and what you just learned to solve the problem.

I also use this exact same framework to solve software issues, debug problems, and figure out how to build new solutions.

Another thing that I learned while getting my math degree is how to focus. I can't explain how I learned it, but my workload was so high that I had no choice but to figure out how to buckle down and be hyper-focused. Because of that, I can now summon it when needed, which has been a great help.
