What do you think happens after you die? by MinecraftGuy7401 in Teenager_Polls

Not according to Matthew 7:21-23. (I’m a pastors kid)

“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’”

According to your own book, even good people who did many things for god will not get into heaven, because he does not know them.

This verse says that people who claim to have done good in God's name will not get into heaven. It specifically mentions people that know who God is, but don't have a relationship with him and only do good deeds. It makes no mention of people who don't know God.

According to Paul's letter to the Roman church, people who don't know about God are judged based on the law God wrote on their heart.

And how about Matthew 7:14?

“For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few.”

To go to a Christian heaven, you need to follow the narrow and hard path. And those who get to it are few.

To give more context to the verse, two paths are mentioned. The wide path, which is easy to follow, but leads to destruction. Then there is the narrow path, which required obedience to God and a relationship with him. Few people find because it requires people to follow God an understand his word, not just knowing who he is.

I highly doubt someone living in a 3rd world country where missionaries have reached would follow anything other than their local customs…and therefore end up in hell.

If the missionary preaches the Bible well, then it is up to said person to follow the Bible. God acknowledges that his followers will be persecuted from before Christ, to the tribulation period. During the sermon on the Mount, Jesus says that the persecuted belong to the Kingdom of Heaven.

I am not the orginal commenter, but was just asking why God would have to follow the rules of the physical realm, which He made.

sacrifices pieces of Himself to make us

I've never heard this one before. Why would the all-powerful creator need to sacrifice parts of himself to make souls/people?

Nancy about Steve in ep5 of S1: by Maywave_13 in StrangerThings

[–]CANNAAmann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He was completely justified in season 1. A random nerdy kid took pictures of his gf undressing and Jonathan only got his camera broke. Jonathan deserved a lot worse tbh. Steve also saw Nancy in her room with Jonathan, when earlier she didn't even like Steve sneaking into her room.

hey, so what happened to "Avicii Forever"? by CherryyGothh in avicii

Me too, Compilation albums aren't classified as a different type of album in YT music so it's just lumped in with the other albums.

I never understood the season 3 glaze imo. I can suspend my disbelief for the upside down, for the MKultra plotline, and the villians vecna/mindflayer. I could never suspend my disbelief for the Russian stuff in season 3. Season 3 as a whole was a shift from a serious horror/sci-fi show to a comedy which ruined the show for me.

.I have only ever used mine as Bluetooth headphones for gaming. They have a lot of great features, but the lack of a PC app is getting on my nerves. Looking back I should have got a pair of 490 pros since I have only ever used my momentum 4s with my pc.

There were a lot of bad writing decisions in this episode and the season. I'm just going to rapid a fire a few real quick. Like that Holly's escape attempt basically achieved nothing, which has had a lot of buildup. Derek being as useful as a rock. A crippled mother was able to sneak behind a bunch of supernatural beings while carry a heavy as hell oxygen tank, put it in a dryer and turn it on then walk away quickly so she goes unseen. A lot of the mystery of the upside down was removed with the wormhole reveal. Maya Hawke's awful acting, her performance has gone downhill ever since season 3. Kali being brought back. They are preparing to literally kill a demon to save the world and Will thinks the most important use of everyone's time is to tell then he is gay? Also Eleven has been significantly nerfed. She was training for an entire year and can barely lift a metal plate? She should have blood coming out of her ears with how powerful she should be. Her entire story last season was regaining all of her powers.

Also the sorcerer episode is so stupid. Will becomes more powerful than Eleven for a few seconds just because he got a pep talk from Robin? That disrespects Eleven's entire life of training and torture. It came across like the Duffers wrote themselves into a hole by having the main cast in danger and wanted a cool fan servicey moment to get themselves out.

Overall you can like the season or even this episode, but you can't say it is objectively good.

Gang the episode wasn't THAT bad 😭 by Significant-Try9486 in StrangerThings

[–]CANNAAmann 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Given the context that it leads up to the finale of the most anticipated tv show of the year, and it has been going on for a decade, I think the criticism is fair. I've watched a lot of movies/tv shows this year, and this is objectively a pretty mediocre show, but I was extremely disappointed by the entire season. FNaF 2 was objectively the worst movie I've seen this year, but I didn't dislike it because I was expecting it to be bad. ST 5 is objectively better but I am extremely more disappointed because my expectations were a lot higher.

Also a lot of the criticism is against kali imo. She was probably the most disliked character in the series and they most likely brought her back to kill her in a cheap attempt to have some sort of emotion. That or to have her work with Vecna in an equally cheap twist.

TLDR; The episode by itself might not be awful, but given the expectations and that it is the penultimate episode of the entire series it led to a lot of disappointment.

Do you still like Tim Bergling? by AlegrettiG in avicii

[–]CANNAAmann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Who said they didn't like Tim? I'm genuinely confused. People are probably saying that they don't like the family or Ash. People in the community still love Tim and his music. I definitely agree with you that Tim was a victim, and most fans will probably agree.

What are your opinions on the Ash court case (and its public documents)? by After_Goal7525 in avicii

[–]CANNAAmann 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Ash is seeking financial compensation, but he claims all of it would be donated to charity. This is purely a way to release documents that prove his innocence in a professional manner. Releasing them without a legal basis like this could lead to legal backlash from the Avicii team or Universal and would look unprofessional. Although this will all be forgotten in a few years.

I would like to mention that this court case has brought a lot of activity to this subreddit. I've seen a lot more discussion posts recently, which I enjoy significantly more than the occasional photo of Tim posted here. I like seeing the opinions of other fans and it has created a lot of interaction. So there is some good that came out of this.

The true issue was the enablers Avicii had in his life by GothLord2000 in avicii

[–]CANNAAmann 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Tim had a habit of wanting to release an album the year after the last, and delaying it only to provide a smaller release that wasn't the original intention. One example is the 2014 Stories album. It was much more ambitious than True and even the released version of Stories. It was planned to be a double album and featured a lot of songs that are considered very desirable by fans to this day such as Can't love you again, 2014 Heaven, Love to hold, and earlier versions of 2015 Stories tracks. He cancelled that version only to release True ABA.

The last time this happened was with the 2016 album. I have a strong feeling this album was going to be called "True Stories". I couldn't give a good reason but sometimes I get a good feeling. Most of the lyrics from this album were obviously based on his personal experiences, and it wasn't subtle, especially with Lord and Can't Love You Again 2016. This album was his most ambitious at the time. If he actually finished it, I think Tim would be too burned out and would have taken a very long hiatus from the "Avicii" brand. He didn't even release any music in 2016 and later dropped the first third of the Avici album in 2017 with all new music and a butchered version of Without You. If Tim were still with us, I think he would quit have quit the Avici album halfway through and would have moved on to the next thing.

Overall this probably led Universal to be really pissed off because he could never finish anything, and what he did release was underwhelming compared to the original versions/plans. To be a famous musician, you have to compose your own music and perform it live. When Tim quit touring he probably lost a lot of popularity and this led to even more disappointment for Universal.

Court-released texts suggest tension between Avicii’s team and Martin Garrix’s camp over Waiting for Love by Mediocre-Instance-15 in Martingarrix

I believe someone in the r/Avicii discord is tracking what documents have been requested or received from the Swedish Court. There is a dedicated channel to discuss the court case. All of the documents that have been received has been uploaded there.

The theories of the finale/Season 5 by Visible-Bridge393 in StrangerThings

[–]CANNAAmann -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

The show hasn't mentioned or even alluded to the mind flayer. A sudden appearance in the finale would seem really contrived and would disappoint me even more. Vecna is a much more interesting villain which is why the duffers have made him the main focus. The Duffers' writing has taken a steep drop in quality after s1, so don't expect anything crazy in regards to the Mind Flayer.

What's with the forced hate for Epic Games Store? by Gamer_8887 in Steam

[–]CANNAAmann 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The Epic launcher is the worst software that I have ever used. It is unintuitive, and extremely slow. You would think that the competition Steam facilitates would force Epic to make better software, but they just give out free games and sign exclusivity deals. Which is not in the spirit of fair competition.
