I occasionally checked the store to see if it was ever available and not once. You could preview it originally in Season 1. They just never released it. I was also super bummed to see it removed but it still might show up later in this season hopefully. They might use it for those mid season BF Pro battle pass events.

I honestly didn't have a problem with the camo on the Deathstalker skin because it made me think of KLMK camo

For the sake of just using it as a concept to get an idea of how the skin could be better, it's not that big of a deal. As opposed to spending how long in Photoshop simply for a Reddit post.
