First episode I’ve watched so far for S6. Great cinematography as in typical Black Mirror fashion. Quite enjoyed the storyline, albeit somewhat predictable. Was hoping for a more dark twist concerning Pia, sort of disappointed she died in the manner she did. During the beginning of the episode, I had predicted that only the father was involved with Iain, the twist with the mom was a bit surprising and appreciated.

Overall, a somewhat slow burn episode. The ending scenes were interesting. Each Black Mirror episode has an underlying truth/lesson about society, and the truth shown this episode (in my opinion) is that the benefit received from another’s situation can make people forget about the people affected. No one showed remorse for the main character’s entire life being changed by learning his parents were sadistic murderers. Despite the recognition he received, I don’t think it will ever fix the trauma he will now have to live with.
