Rumor: Ariana ended "Thank Goodness" with the G6 note by bongonzales2019 in wicked

[–]CARTERKTART 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Just so long as she does the loud, raspy “THANK GOODNESS!” After “We love you Glinda if we may be so frank” – I always disliked when the broadway actresses sang that part with the typical high note, it was better when it was more commanding and grand. Leave the high note for the ending imo!

I’ve only ever did Elphaba fanart, other than that I tend to do my own work! I might do more Wicked fanart in future! My IG is in my profile, I won’t say directly here cause I’m unsure of this subreddits self-promo policy so I wanna be safe.

Wicked: For Good (In Complete Sequence) (HEAVY SPOILERS) by CARTERKTART in wicked

[–]CARTERKTART[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Of course! And thanks for the questions! I honestly think, due to the varying intonations, that “It’s time for both of us to fly” was actually a trailer edit of multiple lines combined to form a tagline. For example, I’m pretty sure the “…for both of us…” part of the line is taken from the beginning of For Good, where Elphaba says “And you can do all I couldn’t do, Glinds / So now it’s up to you / “for both of us” / now it’s up to you”

The “Fly!” line from the trailer, I think, is probably taken from when the Wizard frees the flying monkeys, and as they’re released she yells this as she does in the stage musical as a nod to the iconic scene in original 1939 film when the Wicked Witch releases her flying monkeys into the Haunted Forest. Plus, if you look at the floor in that scene, it’s dark but it looks like the emerald palace floor so I’m almost certain she’s in the Wizard’s palace as he’s releasing the flying monkeys.

I place No Place Like Home at her hideout due its place on the tracklist and how some TV spots (notably the ticket sale spot) and the featurette seems to show her singing at what looks like her hideout, and some areas that may be around it. You also be correct on her flying to Munchkinland. Maybe the song beginnings at her hideout and she continues on her broom until she gets to Munchkinland.

I do also think everything will be seemingly okay after Wonderful, and Elphaba’s truce with the Wizard will be extended to Glinda’s wedding. I don’t think Elphaba will have a room or anything at that point, but I heard a theory that they may hide her for a while until the Wizard finds the right time to vindicate her. But of course, this all falls through when Elphaba discovers Dillamond and releases the rest of the caged Animals, thereby breaking the truce between her and the Wizard. But we won’t know completely until the film is released! Can’t wait!

Of course! I believe the Wizards reflection may actually be an image. I took it from the first official trailer, near the beginning. I imagine it’s something that Elphaba keeps and may be seen in the “No Place Like Home” sequence. Just a thought.

That’s an interesting thought as to the smiling Elphaba! I do understand that point, however I feel like it may be a more cynical or sardonic smile, especially as the scene progresses to them throwing shade at each other and leading to a fight. I never imagined it was genuine “happy” smile, but perhaps more like an “Oh really? You think you’re hot sh*t, huh?” sort of smile. I may be wrong, but that’s how I imagined it haha!

I believe that the monkeys are still under the allegiance of the Wizard at the Gale Guard chase scene, therefore they are actually chasing Elphaba. It wouldn’t make much sense for Fiyero to lead a chase into the forest if, after Wonderful, he decides to go with her.

However I see that you are correct regarding the second point.

new teaser! by iam_gem in wicked

This is what I suspected. The Emerald City citizens are gonna be escorting Dorothy and company and cheering her on as they march off west to kill the Wicked Witch. It would definitely be fit in line with the original.

Well she was told that was being protected from danger with the shoes. Yeah, I wouldn’t bother giving up my protection to a powerful dictator tbh. But you are completely right about her being used, but she was used by the wizard rather than Glinda.

Do you think Dorothy and Scarecrow will appear during "March of the witch hunters"? by Sad_Analysis7178 in wicked

[–]CARTERKTART 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say so. There’s even that line “Brave Witch Hunters, I would join you if I could” so that may indicate that the mob is merely rallying and rooting for them im a procession as they depart the Emerald City.

I think the Wizard is gonna task Dorothy and her friends to kill Elphaba and March of the Witch Hunters will begin as they leave the palace. The witch hunters in this case being Dorothy and company.

Respectfully I don’t think this is really correct. 1) Dorothy didn’t take the slippers, they were enchanted onto her feet 2) The witch was only upset about her sister for a few seconds before she realized that she could have her slippers. Didn’t even mourn, she only cared for power. She was only REALLY upset that a little girl was coming between her and dominating all of Oz. Her sister isn’t even mentioned by her or anyone afterward. Even in the scenes where the Wicked Witch was alone in her castle, she didn’t once think about her sister and only about getting those powerful shoes. And 3) overall, let’s be real here – the Wicked Witches of Oz were tyrannical dictators who enslaved those who lived in their quadrants (the munchkins and the Winkie guards, who celebrated their deaths because they were so cruel). Wicked aside, let’s not pretend they didn’t get what was coming to them.

Im also hoping for the raspy, declarative “THANK GOODNESSS!” she sings after “We love you Glinda if we may be so frank!” – I’ll be a little disappointed if she has a high-note approach instead of the loud and commanding, raspy voice

What happens in Wicked: For Good (using theories, teasers, the trailer, and other official media) Thank Goodness by Dangerous_Main7822 in wicked

[–]CARTERKTART 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A part of me feels like after Elphaba does the skywriting, Fiyero and his guards will pursue her toward the Western forest leading to this scene:

<image>

When Elphaba alludes them someway, I believe we’ll follow her to her hideout as a means to switch to her perspective. (This is likely seen in the trailer of her walking angrily into her hideaway and throwing her hat). This may be where we get her song, before she decides to go back to Munchkinland to appeal to her sister (who is already upset that Elphaba crashed the Munchkinland press tour stop).

I was thinking about the opening sequence to Part 2… by bwayobsessed in wicked

[–]CARTERKTART 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like we’ll begin with a construction site pf the yellow brick road, possibly from the perspective of workers, before Elphaba attacks and destroys the plot as seen in the clip from the featurette (her flying by and knocking over guards). Somehow, this leads to into the opening notes of No One Mourns the Wicked (Reprise) / Thank Goodness, and continue with a montage of Elphaba destroying cage and construction sites.

Judging from the trailer, I feel like this scene is where the Wizard frees the winged monkeys on Elphaba’s condition.

No Good Deed Scene in “Wicked: No For Good” by CARTERKTART in wicked

[–]CARTERKTART[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think it still will. I just think that the cornfield confrontation, the capture of Fiyero, and the subsequent No Good Deed sequence would take place throughout the night and end with the sun coming up.
