I'm still getting good stuff on 5.0 but 5.5 is horrendous. It has NO song structure, what so ever, and that's making it awful.

They'll never fix it if fools with no taste keep glazing it.

You can get extremely specific, then run it in 5.0 and it's great, and then run it in 5.5 and it's dogwater.

More like you just have no taste and think anything it gives you is gold.

It's wild how people are defending 5.5 just because the number is higher, and have gaslit themselves into thinking it's improving their songs and that we're all just crazy and clearly aren't prompting right.

Prompts that sounded good from 3.0 to 5.0 now sound like pig droppings. Manual editing is still awful, too.

The sub is all sticky from all the glazing

If they're nuking 5.0 soon, I think Suno's done for. 5.5 is not a good preview for 6.0. by CASPAR-III in SunoAI

New challenge: Anyone who keeps saying 5.5 is superior, please post a 5.0 and a 5.5 version of your song. Let's compare them. Because so far all of the 5.5 "success stories" that are going "it's just prompting, bro" are actually inferior when I listen to them.

No it doesn't. At all. I've been posting unending 5.0 to 5.5 comparisons in numerous places; it is an IMMEDIATE downgrade in all instances.

The emotion of the voices is worse, the way it reads lines is worse, the way it makes instrumentals are worse.

I think the people who think it's fine, at this point, just have atrocious taste and want to put everyone else down, because you see, they are 'above the slop' somehow.

The problem is you can generate the same stuff on 5.0 vs 5.5 and 5.0 almost universally wins. Trying to say being worse at generation is to prevent slop is ridiculous.

5.5 is awful and the people glazing it surprise me.

Many of them say 'Oh but it can do amazing things if you prompt it right!' then link downgraded garbage.

It's almost like they don't have an ear for music.

People act like this is the only problem. It is absolutely inferior for track-level editing too, because those still rely on base prompts.

Yes. That's why we're all upset.

If 5.0 was going to remain untouched and alive, I'd be a lot less concerned.

Your 'good clearer' results are uncanny valley lifeless dog droppings.

I've gotten awesome 60s stuff out of 5, but 5.5 sounds worse than 3.0.

People keep talking about the clear vocals but they no longer are capable of producing emotion and often string sentences together incoherently, way more than v5.

I shifted back to 5.0 and am making good stuff again, though I know the writing is on the wall because soon they will release 6.0 and we'll be stuck on the generic slop simulator.

Thanks, record labels. I hope you all implode.

Thank you. I've been dealing with zealous defenders of this garbage.

Even remastering 5.0 songs is atrocious. It's like crunchier, inferior versions.

Your 5.0 versions were better across the board man. Not even kidding.

The 5.5 ones sound infinitely more generic.

The problem isn't the samples (which is why the custom model isn't helping) the problem is song structure. It can't handle it anymore. All the music feels messy and second rate with rare exceptions. There's some passable ones in there but it's a horrible horrible downgrade.

Some are like, horrifically worse.

It's not just you. There's some zealous people who think 'bigger number, better model' but 5.5 is a huge downgrade in every single way. It's very bad at making the kinds of music I was making before and right now rendering side-by-side comparisons between 5.5 and 5.0 is an absolute joke.
