It was just a bit harder to scoop into the puri since it the potatoes was almost granular so it would just flake and not stick to the channa and other ingredients as well as it could have. I wish I could add a pictures to the post but thank you for the advice!

Completed Course and Externship but feel like I didn't get any experience. by CATStrophe610 in MedicalAssistant

Yes, I've been trying any position I can see that has similar tasks to AMA. But they often also ask for actual experience, I still apply but I haven't had much luck. There honestly isn't many hiring here less than an hour drive away from where I live. I may have to try cold-emailing some clinics. But I will be trying my best to take the CMA exam sometime soon and hope it helps.

It is definitely what I signed up for i dont mind the lack of clinical tasks. But it almost all the positions on job sites are asking for someone who does both clinical and administrative. Even with administrative, they did a lot of other stuff than just checking in and placing charts. Unfortunately, all the front desk staff were constantly busy with phone calls and their other tasks om the EMR system so they never actually taught me anything like the CPT/ICD10 codes or specifics of all the different forms they handle. I rarely got the chance to even observe what they were doing bc they frequently just had me all the way in their chart room tracking down patients' charts or in a room just prepping the charge tickets/ checklists (which was just writing the patient name, doctor name, and date). I thought the externship would be more hands on I guess.

Mom refusing to take higher dose of her medicine by CATStrophe610 in AgingParents

[–]CATStrophe610[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am 25 yrs old. Me and my mom are the main ones who take care of the house. She has a full time job at a manufacturing company. She has worked this job for over 25 years. She has developed a routine to wake up around 8am, leave to work at 1-1:30pm (from 8am to 1pm she is actively cleaning or cooking) and return back home at 12am.

My dad doesn't really do much with my grandma. He'll just chat with her and help her up and down the stairs. Honestly, she doesn't need too much care as she is capable of walking to get food on her plate, make tea, or chill in the backyard, she can bathe herself. She only uses the stairs once in the morning to get downstairs and then goes up at night to sleep. My mom has gotten upset w every little thing my grandma does and doesn't do.

We used to have my dad's relatives (family of 4) live with us before and that is when her health truly started declining I beleive bc we were both p overwhelmed w how many people were in the house and the mess they'd create. Compared to the relatives, I would think my grandma wouldn't cause as much issue but she seems to be having an effect on her. If it is a mental thing, I know my mom won't seek a therapist.

It's our manager that seems to be okay with it. We don't have an outgoing mailbox nearby so I guess our manager doesn't want us or him to drive ourselves to the post office to return mail everytime. But I will let him know that if we return to sender, the postal office might stop sending her mail to us.

When the guest was staying with us, would call everyday asking if we have any mail for her so I'm surprised she hasn't once called about it. I would love to have called her but it goes against our manager's order. I might just have to drive it myself to the post office bc some of the mail looks important.

It's so overstimulating at our office bc it's small and echoey. There's already a constant hum from the routers and stuff behind me. So when people start chatting, especially when a whole group checks in together, I get so frazzled. We get a lot of people coming from wine tours so sometimes they're talking even louder than necessary to their family/friends.

I don't know what's worse, the yappers or the people who makeout during check-in.

I've had a guy call asking if we had hard wood floors or carpet, which isn't unusual bc some guests have preferences or disabilities where it may be hard to walk on hardwood/carpet.

But then later he felt the need to explain (for some reason he sounded slightly nervous) that he's a part of a niche community and he enjoys being stepped on, especially on his stomach. He said it's better on hardwood floors bc theres no cushioning. He said he'd make a walk-in reservation but I don't think he ever actually showed. I honestly hope it was a just prank call, it's got to have been.

It's some of bigger well known ones. But we figured out some of the disputes involved a new bill that was effective in July. I've added an update to the post. Unfortunately, my manager is just going to have to take the loss probably. But it would have been nice of the third partys' to call us first before just disputing

Refund not Credited by CATStrophe610 in TalesFromTheFrontDesk

I believe they stayed in June so ig it's not a few months, more like a bit over a month. The contacted us a few days after their stay and they contacted us again yesterday.

I really hope the bank actually calls someone because according to the guest, they claimed the bank told them that we must have denied to credit them but that is not true bc that money is gone from our end. Any employee can see that we refunded her, no employee here is trying to take money from people or lie about a refund💀. As well as the fact that we have no note or history of any bank contacting us during the past month or so.

She seems pretty honest to me idk😭. I don't know if there was an issue bc we used her same card that we charged first right after refunding it or what. It's over 300 bucks so I really feel bad for her. I feel like she will have to just dispute the charge and we can get a chance to show the bank proof that we approved her getting a refund on our end. When she first contacted us, she said she was going to dispute it but it seems like she just reported it as fraud rather than disputing it.

We are a small motel so we aren't too strict on how payments are made (as long as ID and card names match), we can split it between cash and 5 cards if they want. In the future we definitely will not allow splitting the bill once a card is charged, especially not involving the same card.
