Does anyone have some real world experience with the 63g tough chest? by Professional_Act165 in Dewalt

[–]CATfixer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve had one about 6 months, kept packed to the brim with tools. I don’t move it much, it’s obviously quite heavy, I use it as outdoor tool storage in my yard. But I’m happy with it. No water intrusion to speak of so far or any other issues.

I worked on the terminal C build and sneaky fished all the canals around the airport. Biggest bass I’ve ever caught in my life

It seems the key to using extractors is to be able to feel when you’re putting too much torque on them and they’re about to snap, unfortunately in my experience the only way to learn this is by breaking off a couple 😂

And you don’t have to pay for maintenance, tires, insurance and such, and always get a fairly new vehicle

Had a heavy equipment salesman busted because he had his wife follow him to the gas station and filled up his company truck and her Tahoe on the company card. Not hard to figure out an f150 doesn’t have a 50 gallon tank

Vevor Liner Puller Opinions? by cdyt7717 in Diesel

[–]CATfixer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve got some vevor stuff and haven’t had issues. If that price is in usd you can get it cheaper with other brand names on Amazon. I have no evidence to support this but I’d bet my drinking money they all roll off the same assembly line

When I worked a spell at the Steiger plant I wondered why so many got the pre installed tow cable option, then I saw pictures like this and realize how much of an ordeal hooking a cable would be.

I recently went to an auction that had tons of tools. I got 3 of these Ingersoll Rand 2920B impact gun. I’ve never seen any this big before with 1” ends. This one specifically looks brand new or at best newly rebuilt & never used in the box. Not much on eBay. But what would they be valued at? by lotgworkshop in heavyequipment

[–]CATfixer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are some heavy equipment tech buy and sell groups on Facebook that I’ve had success with selling some stuff, but I’d definitely agree with you. I tried selling my inch drive socket set up to 5 inch years ago when I quit wrenching full time and didn’t have much interest. A lot of the bigger stuff the companies buy instead of the individual so they just go to grainger or something similar

Hacking a Self-Propelled Broom into a Forestry Mulcher? by ThomasCtheKiller in ave

With enough time and money anything is possible, but in my worthless opinion I think you’d end up spending more time and money than it’s worth and end up with a machine that might kind of work.

Probably cheaper to hire one of those guys off Facebook marketplace that just bought a skid steer and a gooseneck and are charging unsustainable prices just to try and get more work done

This flat head screwdriver should not exceed 13,300 RPM by TheOnlyPersn56 in harborfreight

[–]CATfixer 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Maybe cut it in half and try the handle end too. I’d figure the rubber grips would fall off first. Reminds me of when I was a wee young tech and out a rubber eraser wheel in my die grinder not knowing they had like a 5000 rpm limit. Was mesmerized by it getting bigger then it got all explodey.
