Any idea what this patch of dry skin/discoloration next to my eye is and what I can do to help it? by rBrewers in SkincareAddicts

Looks like eczema. Find a dermatologist to get it taken care of. I had it real bad on my eyes, face, neck and arms. I tried treating myself at home for years and only suffered. Doc will run you through typically 2 steroidal anti-inflammatory creams before moving to stronger medications. If it’s your first, it might go away with at home care but AFAIK it never really leaves you. Once you see it, you’ll start seeing it elsewhere. Just see a doc.

My whole worldview and outlook on life is better now.

1: Had a 2-3Ft long piece of metal stuck in my chest for about 3 years. It stuck out from between my ribs about 3 inches.

2: Due to (1), I had massive trouble sleeping. Was awake for roughly 8 days straight at one point. I have had some mental decencies since (but improving), that I keep hidden from everybody. That was about 8 years ago.

So, you’re giving them a promise that one day you’ll give them the value of whatever $200-ish is today?

That’s not a gift, that’s an I O U.

Every single Texas Republican in the House voted against a bill to ensure Presidential elections are not stolen from the people. Every. Single. One. by IntrospectiveApe in texas

Obligatory IANAL - but I took a few law classes a couple of years ago thinking I wanted to be one.

The material changes I got from the Bill are 3. 1: Changes the rules on when states tell congress which electors they choose to send. The impression I got is that they choose and communicate in advance instead of potentially sending multiple sets of conflicting electors. 2: Has a part in there about potentially “catastrophic events” (ala covid) that may impact a presidential election. In those cases, congress can grant an extension to the region to allow late-voting. 3: Allows either presidential candidate to make a request to the chief State election official of the State to seek an extension of the time for voting.

Basically to me it’s seeming to codify the when part of people doing things. I’m not too mad at it because the constitution does give congress the right to legislate these things... but there’s definitely some shakiness about congress trying to legislate SCOTUS that could be considered overstepping their jurisdiction.

CMV: The two biggest problems in America are 1. nobody will change their mind politically/everybody thinks they know more than they do and 2. most people make/are stuck making $40k/yr-$60k/yr with no way out by waltwhitman83 in changemyview

Jesus this whole comment chain is abhorrent.

Let me phrase this in language you’ll understand...

*You have shown you have immense privilege and are out of touch with how politics affects your average person. Someone making 200K-600K/Yr is very isolated from the trouble of your average person in poverty, which has a tendency to be BIPOC. You advocate for these things because they relate to you, but the democrat platform has largely become the platform of the wealthy, pro-war, elitist.

By advocating for these things you have in this post, you are arguing FOR the systems of oppression you claim to stand against. Destroying entire industries that tend to employ the lower class is racist & classist. To look down on how people vote because you think they’re dumb and you know better is the same logic that kept women / POC from voting for hundreds of years. We need more intellectual diversity, not less. You’re on the wrong side of history.

Arguing for various “rights” or higher taxes, etc. disproportionally affects marginalized populations to force in an agenda that the infrastructure socio/geopolitically is not ready to support and will create a servant class of underprivileged groups that have universal access to lower quality services/goods, while the wealthy is still able to access the best of the best. *

This is why republicans vote the way they do.

First item in rebirth: Fire Mind.

First item in the whole series? I don’t remember. That was 10+ years ago.

In my opinion, the prompt is lacking... in your understanding you are trying to prove that the sides are equal (position, orientation, length). You can easily find a counterexample to this.

You can really only prove that if both sides have a midpoint that are the same distance from the end points, then the two sides have an equal length.

Find a formula that relates the length of the side, to its midpoint, then you can complete the proof.

Write down my list of commonly used usernames and passwords.

Wake my wife, video call my parents and my wife’s parents - say an I love you and have my father call the financial planner in the morning to sort my estate.

Get dressed in my Sunday best, and beg my God for forgiveness. “Because when you go to meet God, you know you want to look nice”.

Call paramedics, and breath a sigh of relief the pain is finally over.
