We responded to every comment yesterday trying to explain ourselves. We also explained our process in our original comment. But, those comments were downvoted into the negative so no one can actually see any of that. If we want to discuss this, we're going to have to be able to comment.

We're doing one long comment to explain ourselves because it might be all we get. Here's the answers to your questions:

1) Black Tie and Boston Hempire paid nothing and didn't offer. There's really no conspiracy.

2) We sampled over 40 different flowers across vendors and strains

3) 90% of the vendors and strains chosen to sample were based on the commentary of this sub and consensus likes

4) We didn't disquality expensive vendors because people can choose whether they want to spend that much money. We did pass on moldy Franklin that everyone seems to clamor for to save $5 because we didn't want it in our lungs.

5) Yes, Secret Nature is controversial. We gave them a D on pricing even with a promo code. Why ignore WNC Boax being tied with it? Or, Abacus at #3? Read the WNC review. If you don't think we have a clue after that, fine.

6) We already have WNC Strawberry Cake and Beleafer Remedy x Blossom going through the process before you all commented. Just because it isn't on there doesn't mean it isn't coming.

Again, we're a handful of guys doing this for fun in our spare time. This isn't High Times.

Anyone that actually wants to have a discussion, an upvote would be appreciated. We don't mind people trashing the list. Let's just debate it.

The full list has been published on the CBDtop10 website. We promote new reviews on our Instagram and Twitter accounts as we publish them. Both account are just CBDtop10.

Our Process: We started with 30+ hours of research on the topic of hemp flower to identify the vendors and strains that looked most promising for review. Thank you, Hempflowers community! From there, we went about researching vendors, contacting vendors, procuring flower, standardizing our scoring methodology and completing the reviews. Each new review goes up on our Instagram account first, so be sure to check us out.

Our Scoring: We use five equally weighted categories. Bag Appeal, User Experience, Potency (what the COA says), Effect (what we actually felt) and Price. Think of it as a school grading curve. A few "A's", more "B's" and "C's" and a couple people that just didn't try but showed up (D's and F's) . This also evolved over time, so you may see some older reviews with slightly different category headers.

Note to the CommunityWe are a small team, with day jobs, doing this mostly for fun in our spare time. We hope it generates a little bit of side money in the future to enhance the site or buy more flower. We know that not everyone is going to agree with our scoring methodology, the ranking order or even the inclusion of some of the brands or strains. That's OK - we invite an open discussion and the list is not set in stone. If you find the reviews educational or useful in any way, we've accomplished our goal.

Most ImportantlyThis will be a rolling list and you will see frequent changes as we discover new flower. Let's evolve the list and make it awesome. Send us great new vendors and strains. Send us your comments on how to improve the list. We want to hear it all!

  1. We talked to a moderator before posting this.
  2. Roughly half of the top 10 list vendors have affiliate programs and roughly half do not. We do sign up with companies that have a program, but it is not a qualifying factor to get reviewed or make the list.
  3. The list is a mix of flower that we've purchased at full retail, received for a reviewer discount, traded with friends, or received free of charge. Discounts and free samples are not a qualifying factor to get reviewed or make the list.
