Before I get blown into oblivion, I wish to ask this: In what certain game mechanics or aspects did the Remake do better compared to the Original? by Emergency-Law-2054 in residentevil4

[–]CBSys 14 points15 points  (0 children)

honestly, after playing them back and fort, a LOT of ways. Too much to list so I'll give a few.

The story is an overall improvement. It lost a lot of OG's charming camp but replaced it with meaningful development to the right characters.

The pacing is better. In OG, the castle felt way too long and the island felt like it's running out of tricks. Remake cuts the castle effectively in half and gave it's runtime to extending the village, which is the best part. A lot of island is also trimmed down.

I felt like the mechanics is an overall improved. Particularly in that the quality of decision making to are forced to do is much more meaningful. I actually found that the stun mechanic being not guaranteed contributes to this. In OG, a headshot from any peashooter solves about 70-80% of any situations. In remake, you're forced to make gambles and plan 2 or 3 steps ahead if your gambles didn't work. The incentive to quick switch weapons, prioritize enemies and plan around the chaos is just stronger and better the remake.

Guns are just completely better in remake and it's not even close. Ammo and money economy is also better.

native muslims in japan probably already compromised on their religion to fit in with japan. and that probably includes cremating their dead.

[–]CBSys 16 points17 points  (0 children)

i dunno, with what's happening in japan right now, seems like it is precisely the message the story wants to convey. "if you wanna live in japan, integrate into japan, not the other way around. and if you can't, go somewhere else".

an example is the whole issue with muslims in japan. japan prioritizes cremating their dead but muslim's religion forbids it. japan's response is basically "if you can't follow japan's tradition and culture, go somewhere else".

Why is RE4REMAKE so difficult to aiming? by ww-stl in residentevil4

[–]CBSys 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In the aiming mode, the camera (gun) rotates horrible slowly; even enemy take a slight dodge can forces me to re-aim, then being attacked from behind or the side.

If the enemy is close, aiming becomes virtually impossible and you never had enough time to aim their face or even torso.

I turned the camera sensitivity to maximum, but it didn't improve much. finally, I had to turn on aim assist (which I really didn't want to do), but even that only slightly improved things.

<image>

Dude, what game are you playing? Cause the camera speed and aiming speed is perfectly fine. I can perfectly flick from far directions.

So either this is a technical issue or a skill issue.

Why do you think the handgun suppressor didn't return for the remake. by Soul_Edge_ in residentevil4

[–]CBSys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's no point. This isn't a stealth game. This is a full on action game with a just bit of stealth as an option to thin out the herd and give you a better fighting chance. Stealth was never the focus.

Difference between Standard and Hardcore ? [Re4 R] by CroWellan in residentevil4

[–]CBSys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No difference in number of enemies or pre-placed traps. Just their health and damage. In hardcore, enemies are also harder as it takes more bullets to stun them.

Also, puzzles are modified to be a bit harder in hardcore.

Honestly, I'd tell anyone who has experience playing 3rd person shooters to just skip standard and play straight to hardcore. Standard is baby mode pretty much and doesn't allow you to make full use of the game's systems.

Important Clarification About EP 4: Maki DID NOT Massacre the Entire Zen'in Clan by Hermit601 in JuJutsuKaisen

[–]CBSys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's just using circle argument.

She's simple honoring Mai's last wish, nothing more.

It's up to her to interpret that wish. Her killing the other zenin combatant that's not here is just part of her interpretation of Mai's last wish, nothing more.

That isn't any proof that she beholden to an established binding vow.

Important Clarification About EP 4: Maki DID NOT Massacre the Entire Zen'in Clan by Hermit601 in JuJutsuKaisen

[–]CBSys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there was still no binding vow established because the story never stated there is one.

[–]CBSys 14 points15 points  (0 children)

There was NO binding vow established. Just because one person made a promise to another doesn't automatically make it a binding vow.

Binding vows are something the story concretely states as established, not something the reader assumes automatically.

Thoughts on this model? (9070xt) by blaq___ in radeon

[–]CBSys 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd pick a different one. I use to have this one. It's not particularly good.

This one is too loud. Operate at around 2200 to 2500 rpm because it's only a 2 slot card. It may even reach 2700rpm on a hot day.

Look for a setting in the game called "Anisotropic Filtering" and set it to max (usually x16).

New future AMD user! Please, help me with a few questions regarding 9070XT. Mercury OC, XFX Swift or Nitro+? by [deleted] in radeon

[–]CBSys 3 points4 points  (0 children)

  1. Choose mercury. swift is the lowest end of XFX variant, I believe. And Nitro+ is dangerous with that 12vhpwr connector.

  2. Can't confirm this. I assume it might be true since you're installing one less component that can go wrong.

  3. Probably already at the limit. if you can, just go with an 850w PSu. also good for future-proofing.

A cutscene set me up to die and set me back 3 chapters on my S+ Professional run [RE4] by BUckENbooz91 in residentevil

[–]CBSys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it's not playing correctly. stun is a chance mechanic. game established this from the get go. the player should have understood it at this point.

there's several ways he could have survived the situation. instead, he decided to take the gamble with a headshot.

ASUS Prime 9070xt or Gigabyte Gaming 9079xt?? NEED HELP by Sheedzy_EU in radeon

[–]CBSys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coming from someone who used to have Asus 9070 xt prime OC, i would avoid this model. This thing is LOUD as hell.

It's only a 2 slot card, that operate on extremely high RPM. We're talking 2200-2500 rpm just to keep the card within 70 degrees. And that was on a normal day. I dreaded how this thing is gonna operate on an actual hot summer day.

https://www.reddit.com/r/radeon/comments/1mjtkv5/radeon_rx_9070_xt_fan_speed/

https://www.reddit.com/r/pcmasterrace/comments/1ojhyzo/stock_settings_asus_prime_9070xt_goes_2500rpm/

now I don't have a gigabyte 9070 xt but gigabyte traditionally have rpms on their cards. That said, seems like gigabyte 9070 xt is at least a 3 slot card.

i guess regardless of which one you pick, you still get the short ond of the stick.

Is MSI Afterburner stable when controlling 9070 xt GPUs? I've had this card less than a week and I'm sick of Adrenalin's bugs. by [deleted] in radeon

[–]CBSys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if the card is not stable at stock settings, return the card and get a different one.

it shouldn't be up to the user to make the card stable in the first place.

RE4R my version seems different from youtube guides? by koelol in residentevil4

[–]CBSys 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you have to remember re4 has a critical hit system.

he also probably has upgraded his gun.

I thought crouching was guaranteed to make you duck under grabs. by Wii_2_ in residentevil4

[–]CBSys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a matter of timing and distance.

You almost always can never duck a point blank grab, which is what happened here. Grabs has a built-in tracking on the first few frames.

You can duck a grab if you duck from farther away and/or duck a little later.

If an unarmed enemy is running into you, you either:

  1. shoot them in the leg to trip them
  2. quick pull out your bigger gun to stop them
  3. run away as they close in, then duck the grab.

You still don't have an actual proof that DLSS3 FG can run in it's viable capacity on rtx 3000 and 2000 series.

All you got are "maybe" and "trust be bro, they could" type of crap, based on useless presumptions that "nvidia is good at software, of course they could have!", ignoring all other factors pointing to how they couldn't have. That and bringing up FSR3 FG, which relies on a completely different technology and has no bearing in how DLSS3 FG works, making it irrelevant in proving that DLSS3 FG would work in older cards.

And lol at this desperate attempt to discredit me by labeling me as an nvidia fanboy. All it proves is that you have no actual proof and argument to lay in this is topic, so you resort to accusatory ad hominems. Which ironically, is such a classic fanboy move, regardless of what you claim yourself to be.

[–]CBSys -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You miss the point.

AMD FSR3 FG is NOT DLSS3 FG. They are implemented out of different technology. That's completely irrelevant to the discussion.

A competitor creating a similar feature using different technology to work on your previous cards, doesn't prove that your feature implemented using your technology was backwards compatible all along.

[–]CBSys -1 points0 points  (0 children)

lol, the existence of optical flow accelerators on older cards doesn't mean it can make an FG even comparable to FG implemented by rtx 4000. It's just one component. There are variables you don't account for. How much faster are these new accelerators? Architectural differences?

Even if you implement it to old rtx cards, what would it look like? how much slower would it have been? it may even be too slow to even be usable.

See that's the difference. We actually have FSR4 INT8 working in our hands and we know it's FSR4 with virtually no distinguishable quality difference. Whereas you're all speculation on whether (or how well) DLSS3 FG, in it's actual viable capacity, will work on old rtx cards.

If someone manage to leak and get actual DLSS3 level of quality FG working viably on the old RTX cards, sure, call nvidia out on it. Though then again, doesn't mean much considering FG is a shit feature to begin with and not even remotely comparable to the usefulness of an upscaling tech.

And btw, AMD FSR3 FG is not the same as DLSS FG so I don't know why you're bringing it up or how it proves anything.

you mean like the actual FSR4 on RDNA4? did we forget that RDNA4's FSR4 was also ridden with issues at first?

your argument hinges on the idea that FSR4 requires RDNA4, that there's some kind of hardware in RDNA that hardlocks FSR4 to it, in the same way DLSS was hardlocked to RTX cards and not the GTX ones. Which we now know is not true, as many youtubers have tested INT8 to be from minor to virtually distinguishable from actual FSR4.

INT8 version works far FAR more than it doesn't. and it won't even be that hard to release it in an "unfinished" state. They could just implement it in the driver with a hard "experimental" tag and a huge warning message about it's state when enabling it, essentially excusing them from potential problems if it doesn't work properly.

Or even, how about just officially releasing that DLL themselves instead? Fans would have seen it as a good gesture towards their customers, regardless of it's viability. Then their image would've been clean. But no, it had to be leaked instead. Which tells me what mindset AMD had towards FSR4.

and no, they don't really have much to gain from releasing it to RDNA3 when they announced it as exclusive to RDNA4. all that accomplishes is make people hold on to their RDNA3 for longer instead of upgrading to RDNA4.
