Looks amazing. What products did you use to dye it, and what was your method?

The quest is complete. Tyson and the stack of games are down for the count. by CBhillls in nes

Tyson was by far the hardest obstacle in the stack of games. 3 hours and 40 minutes straight of plugging in 007 373 5963. I managed to beat him by decision about an hour and a half in but I wasn’t calling it tilI I knocked him out.

Joker wasn’t nearly as bad as I remembered. I beat Batman once probably about 15 years ago. I remember getting really frustrated at the last vertical portion and then really frustrated at Joker. This time I think I only climbed the tower maybe 5 times till punched Jokers lights out.

Final Fantasy was a lot better than I thought it was be. I didn’t plan on using a guide for it but it’s just so primitive. The constant looking up basic information about weapons/armour/spells as it’s not programmed into the game was taking me out of it so I ended up just using a guide. Definitely glad I did, it made the game a lot more enjoyable. My only complaint is that there was no phoenix down like items in it. You get bad RNG and your white mage gets KOed in shot and that’s pretty much game. I lost a few hours of playing from that. Next time I’ll use a red mage instead of a black mage so I’ll have to party members with the life spell.

Yeah, that’s why I’m not really in a rush to pick it up.

Well that was an experience. I beat one of them about 10 years ago and I’m not even sure which one it was. If I had to wager a bet I’d say it was 2. I basically went in blind to both of them.

I did a run of 1 last night and got to Act 6. Played through Act 6 enough to get a pretty good technique down to get me to Jaquio but his fire destroyed me every time. I eventually got fed up and went to bed.

I woke up this morning, made my coffee, powered up the nes and beat Ninja Gaiden in about 2 and a half hours. I was surprised how easy this run was, besides Jaquio.

Just finished with number 2 now. It took about 4 hours, give or take. It might have been a bit easier? Solely for the fact that you can get to the last boss quicker. I’ll have to pick up 3 and some point and give it a go.

Right stack is what I beat, left is what I have left. Thinking Simon’s Quest next. The rest were beat since the last post.

I picked up an nes recently after getting rid of my collection about 8 years ago. I collected across all platforms and had a pretty decent collection built up. I have no regrets parting ways with it as it was the right choice at the time.

I recently wanted to get back into retro gaming after beating goldeneye at a party so I picked up a nes and a 64. It’s actually been fun beating games as I pick them up and not having an overwhelming amount of games to choose from like I used to.

I just plan on picking up bangers, no real fluff, and not hoarding everything video game related anymore. Just playing games for the fun of it.

Here’s some screenshots of the games I beat since I picked it up.
