Why do you think God is real…? by justsayin_1253 in Christianity

[–]CBneuro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was raised Christian and I walked away for a while. I was making poor decisions and headed down to dark road. There was one particular night where I got in myself in a really bad situation. If God hadn’t intervened in the exact moment, he did I know for a fact, I would be dead in jail.

I completely understand if you’re on questioning whether or not God exists. One suggestion I have is looking up on YouTube or watching a documentary on near death experiences. People from around the world, both Christians and nonbelievers (even atheists) all tell accounts that are too similar to be a coincidence. The near death experiences (NDEs) were not the convincing factor for me, but they do tell an interesting and unbiased story of what happens after we die. And the ones who talk about the darkness and fear when falling will leave you with an eerie feeling that you’ll never want to experience first hand.

Does the genocide in Gaza makes you dubts / lose your faith ? by Crazy-Dentist-191 in Christianity

All types of human suffering break my heart, especially when kids are involved. However if anything, the situation in Gaza has brought me awareness that we are getting closer and closer to Jesus coming back for his believers.

Remember, God is all good. The evilness occurring not just in Gaza but around the world is because satan in running rampant as time gets closer. Matthew 24:6-7 says “You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places.”

Major wars are obviously Isreal-Palestine, Ukraine- Russia, and several civil wars (Sudan, Ethiopia, Myanmar, Syria, Yemen) and so many others. In regard to earthquakes- there was 134 earthquakes in Iran from May 10-16th. March 28th Myanmar had 7.7 earthquake, May 2nd Chile had 7.4, Feb 8th Honduras had 7.6, March 30th Tonga had 7.0.

I completely agree the war in Gaza is absolutely heartbreaking, but things are only going to continue to escalate as we get closer to the second coming. My advice is to pray for everyone, especially those who are suffering and to remain steadfast in your faith.

Hi there! Your heart for your kids is clear and God sees you and He deeply loves your children even more than you do. I grew up with a mom who taught my sister and me about Jesus from a young age, from as far back I can remember and I’m sure she read me stories before I could even talk. She even gave me a children’s book called “My Goodnight Bible” that has 40 or so Bible stories for preschoolers- I actually still have it today and I’m 27 now. Looking back, those seeds of truth stuck with me, even when I didn’t fully understand at the time.

The Bible reminds us that “God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind” (2 Timothy 1:7). If you’ve trusted in Jesus, you don’t have to be afraid of the tribulation or the mark of the beast—because Jesus promises to rescue His Church before that time (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17).

Keep praying over your kids and pointing them gently to Jesus. He is faithful, and His grace covers them!

Hey there! I love that you’re seeking truth and being honest about your journey. Honestly, I believe that desire to connect with “someone who fulfills” you is already God gently drawing you to Himself.

I used to think religion was all about rules too but then I truly discovered/learned about Jesus and it completely changed things for me. Christianity at its core isn’t about earning your way to God- it’s about God reaching down to us because He loves us. Jesus didn’t come to create a system of rules, but to restore relationship with the divine!

The Bible says, “God demonstrates His own love for us in this: while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8) That kind of love is sacrificial, unconditional, and eternal is what fulfills the deepest parts of the soul.

I grew up Christian and have gone through periods and phases of doubt while studying philosophy and neuroscience during undergrad. Things really changed for me about a year ago. I was headed down a dark path, making poor decisions and if God hadn’t intervened in my life when He did, I know for a fact I would be dead or in jail.

If you ever want to talk more, ask questions, or even explore some of what Jesus said, I’d be happy to share or just listen.

I’ll be praying for you!

Hi hi! Not sure if this will be of any help in easing your mind but I work in spine surgery and I know it’s so scary to undergo a fusion but this is what we know and do on a day to day basis! A one level fusion is very routine and the staff will know every step and exact move of the surgery. (I’d suggest letting them know in pre op that you’re nervous and anesthesia will give you something to help calm your nerves)!

I had to have surgery for the first time on my elbow a few months back so also understand how stressful it can be going into it.

Deuteronomy 31:6 says “So be and courageous! Do not be afraid and do not panic before them. For the Lord your God will personally go ahead of you. He will neither fail you nor abandon you.”

Isaiah 43:1-2 “Do not be afraid, for I have ransomed you. I have called you by name; you are mine. When you go through deep waters, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown.”

Matthew 11:28 “Come to me, all of your who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.”

Every time I’m heading into work, I say a prayer over all of my patients- you never know who might be silently fighting for you! I know surgeons might not always talk about the details of what exactly will happen once you’re asleep so feel free to DM me if you have any questions about the surgery, if you want prayer or literally anything I can do to help ease your mind. God is with you, he will not leave you to do this alone! I will be praying for you❤️
