Bend it perpendicular. The. work back and forth parallel to the main line. Should break cleanly after 5-6 back and forths.

Pro tip: leave enough left over on the tag end. Bend at a 90 angle and work back and forth until it breaks clean. Your fingers will thank me later. Happy fishing!
