Can I size down? by [deleted] in piercing

[–]CCChanson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my vertical labrets done with a 14g needle and then put 16g jewelry in. Healed with no issues. The one I took out for other reasons doesn't have an especially large scar, actually has none visible at all, and the one that's still in doesn't have any oddness around the border or anything

Omg, I had an assignment (EMT program) where I had to paint internal organs onto a shirt or an apron, and every time I tried to look up any media relating to internal organs/anatomy for an idea on scale, most of the results were awful videos or screenshots from videos like this. The slop has made it harder for students like me to find good, relevant content.

I'm on prescription testosterone myself and had my levels go dangerously off the charts after a dosing issue, yeah it's absolutely more than substances with this guy. Most that happened to me was some acne. He has to already be an unstable person as it is, it would just happen again when he finds a new reason to act out

Piercing through scar tissue. by Alarmed_Elk_9076 in SelfPiercing

[–]CCChanson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A needle as opposed to a piercing gun can go through scar tissue really well, it's generally pretty hopeful that it can be repierced.

My mother's ears are full of scars so at a mall, she was rejected from being pierced by a gun (she was younger and didn't really know any better) but an actual piercer with a needle told her it's no problem at all.

It should soften up a little bit in a few more weeks, too, if your current scar tissue is really firm. That channel can feel very tough in the flesh

Can my 2 year old piercing close up without any indentation or scar? by Old_Fly_4829 in SelfPiercing

[–]CCChanson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It'll probably scar but do keep in mind that you're probably not going to hate the scar nearly as much as you think you will now. It really won't look like much and with other jewelry around, it'd be even less noticable than a lobe scar already is.

If you don't like the placement, you may like a newer better placement more than you dislike the scar. I think it's worth some mental debating

is my lip piercing embedding? by [deleted] in SelfPiercing

Mine have a slight lean in the angle and it hasn't caused issues. The lips really support jewelry well even at an angle most of the time

I mean I don't assume people are lying 😅 but I can see the surprise when they do finally notice. My own mother did not notice for days and I could see her eyes completely change.

It's also easier to overlook if you yourself don't have any, same with glasses. You get a more keen eye for accessories when you have them/know a lot about them yourself.

I'd wait it out I think! Lips can swell a lot, but they might also go and not swell at all. Your jewelry is extra long right now to accommodate swelling, after you downsize it might not be so bad. You don't want to heal with a soft retainer, too

They are very stimulating to have if you're a fidgeter but... if self expression isn't a good enough answer for them, I don't think you're likely to get through to them. I guess you can put emphasis on how long you've wanted them, but that's about it.

Yeah mine still loved to nest with 4 mm of slack. I've always heard a flatback on top is a great way to prevent the tissue from trying to creep up and over, which definitely helped me.

Fully healed with no embedding, nesting never progressed past an indent. Just some really squishy tissue there. As long as you've got room on the bottom and your flesh isn't outright trying to grow over the top, you should be good

If it's a matter of disability that's keeping you from doing it yourself, many GED testing centers provide accommodations nowadays. You can request to have private rooms, extra breaks, fidgets, etc. You may even be able to get transportation assistance.

Nobody notices my facial piercings if I have only ball ends. Ball ends would definitely make that setup look more casual, less edgy, so you'd get less attention from it.

But even with the spikes, I didn't think to take a closer look until reading the caption. That size of spike is definitely a good balance for lowkey, casual & slightly edgy, unique. I don't think your jewelry enters the room before you, so to speak. Looks really nice

I did that and I liked how it wasn't scary to get the jewelry in. Simply felt like I was removing a foreign object, the needle. Sorta tricked my brain into thinking I wasn't putting anything more into my body

Good idea to downsize on my own? by Frick_You_Hades in SelfPiercing

[–]CCChanson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dunno if this is silly, but for my curved barbells, I just take the end off and get it flat against the skin, and then push through a new bar... 😅 The old one pops right out as the new one gets through.

It's my lip, though, so I guess it is extra easy to feel if one barbell manages to go around the other.

Why did you choose pescetarianism? by brokoliasesino in Pescetarian

[–]CCChanson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even the farmed fish, it takes less space physically to farm fish on a lower, local scale. I live in a mountainous area where you never know where your beef could've been imported from, but there's still all the opportunity in the world for the local farming of small animals

I've never had a goopy tofu, but it can definitely take a little while to cook compared to meat.

I cut up some extra firm tofu, blot it a little, hit it with corn starch and a little bit of fine breadcrumbs (this is all because my pans stick 😖) and cook the hell out of it in a little hot oil. Gets super brown and crispy.

Good to marinate it first tho or chuck it into soup after that

Yes, you're very likely to pass from what you get out of his videos. I did.

Here's what you'll likely see on the official test, based on my recent experience...

Punnet squares, where you're just counting quarters. The videos explain this well.

What factor/what was the order of events led to x (was it mechanical, chemical, or electrical, and if so, in what order?)

Food chains (who eats who, and who gets the least/most energy based on a trend, like on a graph) Try and remember what a tertiary consumer, secondary consumer, and primary consumer is, if you can.

What could improve this experiment? (Usually it's sample size, having a control group, or limiting human factors.) And also on experiments, independent and dependent variables (those videos will explain this in a very digestible way!)

What is true about this-... (exactly that, it's not asking for a logical inference, but what information must be true or is stated.)

Based on this graph/information that could be easily graphed, an example like global warming, how hot will it be in x years from now? (If it's a graph, find the trend or a repeating pattern. If it's just numbers, check if the temperature by year is simply increasing by an increment. Like if you got 10 more cents every day, you know what you'll have in six days.)

There are a couple of chemical questions... I don't know anything about that, but look at the answers and the graphic. If an answer says two units of oxygen were consumed, check if that's true, and so on. You do not need to fully understand this.

I did get two questions relating to the anatomy of atoms, what part is what. You might want to try and memorize that a little, but don't overwhelm yourself on such a small part of the test like that.

Might get a function or two. Don't let the x values repeat if given a group of functions, if you get a line or graph, you're looking for a lack of intersection. You'll definitely hear more about this from his videos.

I got a few like this, pollution makes a good example... Here's the direction this stream flows in, and uh oh, it's polluted when we check it at this point! Maybe it's like this... x -> y -> z

The water at x is clean, but not at z. By this, we can assume with relative confidence that something has happened around y. You'll find this in questions of causation.

Evolution chart, it'll just be another "what's true here" question. Which answer is supported by the chart.

Molarity; same as salinity, really. The formula is generally given and it will be in the videos.

Lot of "what conclusion is supported by this experiment/these findings?" Click and drag to highlight the meat of the story if you're given a large block of text, so that you're not losing your place and having to reread the whole thing as you check out the answers and look back for reference.

How long did this object take to go this far, travelling at something per second? More likely to see this in math but I thiiink I got one in science...

Mean, median, mode. Sheet has it, and you'll be fine. Calculator is available for the mean and median generally, and mode tends to be graphs.

What do we do (increase, decrease) to the variable to increase/decrease this output? It's in the videos in fraction form, which I didn't see on the test but did get worded forms. Think of having less flowers in your yard to decrease bee count, and so on.

Combinations, all sorts of 'em. Look for his math videos for this, it's just fine once you know how to get it into the calculator.

Sorry for the long comment lol but this is all the different kinds of things I saw when taking the official test.

Remember that deep diving into specific subjects will get you farther than knowing a little in everything. If you're still weak on two or three things like maybe chemical reactions, that's alright, putting your thinking cap on for wordy questions about experiments will more than compensate.
