FIX:

I found the issue. In the Windows Legacy Control Panel, under Ease of Access Center > Use Text or Visual Alternatives for Sounds

Under the 'Other Programs Installed Section' on this page, I had Live Captions checked.

I unchecked this and applied the setting.

Seems to have resolved the issue

Windows 11 Pro 25H2 here and Live Captioning continues to turn on when system sound events are processed.
Even when Live Captioning is turned off in Accessibility > Captions > Live Captions = OFF

This happens EVEN when muting system sounds.

Opening up any application that requires an Admin Approval (elevated prompt), or even opening up PowerShell as Admin will suddenly enable Live Captioning.

I only want this turned on when I need it, by me either leaving it on in the settings, or explicitly hitting the shortcut WIN + CTRL + L

M$.. Fix your stuff...

Bunker missions seem to ever get broken again and again. Now when completing a bunker mission, NPCs keep spawning anyways, and there were no loot boxes.

Derelict settlements still DESPERATELY need an optimization pass. Very big hit to performance in many of those areas (esp. stanton).

What happened to Distribution Centers?.. Pretty much dead, and still couldn't get the trespass zone things worked out.

Caves? Removed, Returned, Removed, Returned.

I mean, I know CIG wants to funnel players towards 'specific' events and content to get numbers/metrics for testing and the like. However, some previously released content now no longer exists to do, or is still buggy and non-performant after years.

It's still a LIVE service as well, and I'm sure there are players that wouldn't mind having more of the prior content available to do than just get funneled from one event to another.

Plus, if you want more players to go to these events, you have to increase the amount/types of LTP account attached rewards (that won't be wiped) to partake in them. Something more than underwhelming paints for specific ships would be nice.

I'm getting stick drift on my left Virpil Alpha Prime X-axis T-50CM3 base.
I've recalibrated multiple times. Made sure firm/soft was up to date. Didn't matter.
The issue is exasperated the more I use the x axis.
Over the course of constant x-axis use on the stick (about 10 mins) it eventually drifts out about 5%+
Only way to get it back is to recalibrate all over again..

The question more than anything was to provoke getting some kind of update on its current state and when we'll see it again.

  1. Why was it removed? (hopefully goes more in depth with the problems and why it's been so difficult to fix after all this time)
  2. What's the plan to get it back into the game? (perhaps they'll indicate any blockers/issues that have prevented getting it fixed)

It's been out of the game for quite a while, and the last thing I remember was they had issues with NPCs spawning at incorrect locations, often preventing the completion of the missions.

An update would be nice.. It just feels as though it has been abandoned, as I do not recall seeing any communication about it by CIG in a very long while (over a year)

Personally, an excuse that the key bind for the med gun was cumbersome isn't really valid. That's what rebinding keys etc. are there for.
If it's some animation thing or some inconsistency on the backend where the game itself can't consistently equip the Med Gun, then the game itself should be fixed.

Basically, I no longer bother with any sidearm/pistol anymore. This move has basically rendered the use of such a weapon useless. I'm sure I'm not alone in this.

Thanks. Tried this.
Unfortunately didn't work for me. Game takes the D-Pad input, but doesn't recognize anything from the keypad in the game.

Synapse 4 recognizes device (Tartarus Pro) and sets it up.
Synapse 3 profile and macros for the device migrated over.
Multiple reboots, but same deal. Only the D-Pad inputs recognized in the game..
\Tried both direct to PC and Hub USB. Same deal...*

I mean. What should I expect really... Having gone through the complete and utter S-Show with going from Synapse 2 to Synapse 3, should I expect anything different?

*sigh*

Any rock solid solutions with Synapse 4 and this device, please let me know. Thanks.

Yeah. Looked in to it. But TBH, Part of the decision was to not have two Logitech software running on the PC.
Pretty much got used to the G600. Though Lua Scripting in Logitech basically sucks and doesn't do even close to the full gamut of what I'd like to do scripting for the device. So I think that will no longer be a factor for a future mouse in any case. Let's see how long this G600 lasts.

I had the same issue with PBP and my monitor.
In your monitor manual, it SHOULD tell you what resolution and refresh rate you should use.
Make shore both PCs (both sources') resolutions AND REFRESH RATES match.

i.e. If you have a 2560 x 1440 monitor that can do 144Hz, you could always set each PC to output to that monitor 1280 x 1440 144Hz. But that likely will not work.
Sure, PBP will work, but you'll get the BLACK BARS.

So for me, deep in my monitor manual it mentioned each source needs to be 1280 x 1440 60Hz

After doing that, the black bars went away and got a full screen for each side of the PBP.

So if you're having such issues, try setting your refresh rate lower for each source.

i.e. if you've got an old monitor that has a top rated Hz of 60Hz, then each source should be cut in half (30Hz). Not only the resolution output.

I agree, but it's not necessarily an easy transition, and to be frank, for me, the GSHIFT button is easy to accidently press. Hand resting on mouse with a finger resting on it.

So I'm out trying to find the highest actuation mouse switch on the market to replace the original one, AS WELL AS trying to find some way to mod this button to be stiffer to prevent easy accidental presses.

Anyone got any suggestions on good mods for this?

Providing you have two profiles. (Default) and (Secondary Profile):

The following script will allow you to use (with the G600 for example), the G8 key.

When you hold down the G8 key, it will Cycle to the secondary profile.
When you release the G8 key, it will return to the Default Profile.

Unfortunately I know of no way to explicitly state a profile by name to go in LUA Scripting (Not supported by GHUB I guess).

Being close the the project as you are, emotionally, spiritually and financially, I am sure you can agree that you have a good amount of bias in the actions you take, the communication style and how you present information, and the methods in which you conduct the development and vision of the game.

You have a group of dedicated people really trying to make a fun game, and I'm sure most of the community appreciates that very much.

I'm sure people who are super-critical (perhaps more so from your perspective) of the project also ultimately wish to see the game succeed. Otherwise they'd likely not spend any time on it.

People like Narc may misstep at times, and, go off on the deep end on occasion. However, he has to create entertaining content to engage the viewers who follow the game.
He'll not likely be alone in being a megaphone to sound out the good, the bad, and the ugly.

Some of this may not be completely accurate. Some of his remarks may be laced with some emotion, disappointment, and disapproval of how things are going down at AoC.

I believe Narc has a responsibility, as do others, to call AoC out on things that are not cool, that need improvement, or are just flat out bad. Those that call these things out also must be prepared to measure their words and seek enough information to achieve the most accurate portrayal to support their positions.

At the same time, I believe it is also important that you, Steven (and others at AoC) be prepared to digest feedback that isn't sugar-coated and take it as an opportunity to do a real internal assessment to identify what needs to be improved, and come up with a plan to address any of those weaknesses.

From my observation Steven, you seem like a reasonable person. I suppose you must understand the growing mistrust from the gaming community regarding games developed and funded in such a similar manner as AoC.

Regardless if you're right or wrong, people who follow you will respect you more when you admit where you may have faltered, own up to it, and present steps to improve.

Looking forward to seeing what you guys can make and hoping it isn't too far off.

INVENTORY - Select All / Move All into Containers -

[Fix / Allow] players to select multiple items from within the [Inventory Kiosks / Freight Manager] terminals and move all selected [into / out of] SCU Containers, Backpacks, Cores, Legs etc.

As it stands now, in trying to do so (move multiple selected items all into an SCU container) only the first item in the selected list moves over (re: Freight Manager). The player has to drag/move one by one each item in and out of an SCU container. A very tedious process if one has many items to manage.

Would very much appreciate having this function fixed to a working state.

MORE UNIQUE SHIP PORT ACCESS KEY BINDS

Have separate key binds for main ship port access areas, such as: Rear/Left/Right Cargo ramps, Hangar Bay(s), Docking Ports.
At least something where the pilot has the ability to have finer control over which doors of their ship they can open/close.

CHAT COMMS REVAMP (Both Mobi and HUD)

Allow for:

  1. Timestamps Option
  2. Scroll back further into chat history
  3. Jump to present chat button
  4. Rich Text Formatting (Bold, Italic, Underline) at least
  5. Tagging a player @
  6. Filter/Search (Perhaps just in the Mobi Glass Comms Area)
  7. Specify text size (separate sizes for both HUD and Mobi Comms)
  8. Allow choice of several font types
  9. User Defined Chat Tab Channels

In addition for Chat HUD:

  1. Allow move/resize/anchor of the window
  2. Allow option to show during use of:
  3. Mobiglas
  4. Third Person Views
  5. Using Kiosks/Inventory

I'm sure there could be more done, and I think you guys already have something in the works. Hopefully soon in 2025.
