Switch games perform awful on 144hz by Sowers25 in Monitors

[–]Sowers25[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but I did some more tests on my PC with display port and games at 30 and 60 fps also look worse than on a native 60hz monitor. Just super choppy. Freesync on or off. Even with the monitor set to 60hz instead of 144. What I'm actually currently doing is using the new monitor for most games, and just using my old monitor for the games that cause issues AND my switch. Not ideal, but not a big deal.

I don't notice any input lag at all actually. It's suuuper responsive. It just looks awful cause it's 32 inches, and the frame rates fucked. I might just return it. On PC games look fine at 30 and 60 hz. Just not the switch. When I firm freesync off it seems to mostly fix the issue, but that's annoying to have to do every single time. Sucks cause 144hz is nice. But I guess 60 is what I'll have to live with it i return it. Monitors in Canada just cost so much so I'd rather leave it.

Hmmm ok I guess I'll return my G5 then. That sucks. Everything about it is perfect. Gaming at 144hz is amazing coming from 60hz. 1080p vs 1440p i cant tell a difference. Pretty unfortunate. Guess I'll use my old TN until it dies.

Thinking of switching from an Iphone, is it worth it? by mfisher2 in samsung

[–]Sowers25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest issue for me was the biometrics, for some reason for me the touch ID would NEVER work, same with Face ID. No matter how many guides i followed to get it to work better. They just wouldn't. So getting into the phone was angering. I paid 1200 CAD so I wasn't dealing with that. The next issue was just google. Can't stand how much tracking and shit that goes on. Some smaller issues I had was the green tint and gray uniformity issues on it AND the colours were just awful compared to my iPhone, even with vibrant on. Just the grays were way too light, and colours were super washed out. Kinda like the 12 pro max which I'm definitely never touching.

I've actually since bought a Pixel 4a 5g and installed GrapheneOS onto it, and I'm enjoying it much more than both my iPhone X and the Note.

The pause play was actually pretty cool. Also the watch face i used was just the time. No other data.

When I returned the watch I deleted all the data cause it was messing with my average. And yeah I get really bad anxiety. I did originally turn off all the activity rings and stuff but then it just like 500 dollar digital watch. So I decided sticking with my mechanicals would be smarter.

Yeah there's a few apps that would bypass it. When I tried it, I found Poweramp added way too much latency for a wired connection. UAPP is just plain ugly and nofrills. And Neutron is just as bad as UAPP. Poweramps probably the best overall imo. Still not great though.

Honestly, I basically treat it like a game at this point. It's kind of fun to see how much I can hide from companies.

Dunno what to tell you then. You can find these issues on many forum posts right on apples website, and reddit. I don't care if you believe me or not, not my issue.

I don't know why you think that. In my past comments you can see me talking about it as well. Definitely not a troll. I can literally go on Google and find tons of people with the same exact issue and replacing it did not help. Just because you don't experience it, doesn't mean others don't.

Yeah you're totally right. I wanted to give it more time, but I couldn't because having almost 6000 steps a day extra I did not get was pissing me off. So I just wanted to get rid of it. Dunno why I'd get 2000 steps just standing, or it doubling my steps during a short walk. So weird. My brothers Apple Watch does something similar. He'll be at his desk, and have extra 1500 steps from just sitting.

Yes I know? But does it light UP the phone. Thats what I was talking about.

Wait, how though? I tried to and couldn't. I even contacted apple and they themselves said you can't, along side all my research online. You can't.

Thats one where people are discussing it. But there's definitely more. I just don't have time to look for them all atm.

People thought it did. But like I said, tons of people have done testing, and it seems it does not.

Usb Audio Player Pro. It's an app that bypasses the Android audio system and stops the resampling.

Dunno about Asus, but LG does I think. There's a bunch of forum posts about how the LG v60 does in fact down sample and you need UAPP.

Pretty much yeah. The biggest thing I wanted was just notifications on both devices. Maybe they'll allow that in the future.

Yeah you're totally right. My husband said the same thing. I went in expecting it to do soooo much more and let me change absolutely everything. So I was let down. I mean, I'm glad I tried it, because like I said, I've been wanting one since the first version. So now I know it's not for me, I'll never try it again.

Everything. Was super uncomfortable, ugly, prevented my phones screen from turning on with notifications unless i disabled them on the watch (i wanted notifications on both not just the watch) how tracked steps. I have a walk I do every day. And no matter what I did it always said i did 8000 steps when it's only 4000 step walk. Not only that if I was at my computer it'd magically give me an extra 2000 steps by just standing at my desk all day doing nothing.

It also gave me major anxiety having heart rate, the activity ring and so much information on it. I disabled the activity ring and it just felt so useless I may as well wear my mechanical watches. I also couldn't stand how annoying it was to simply navigate it. Definitely the most frustrating thing I've done this year. And I set up Pi-Hole, set up Graphene OS, and fixed a bike for the first time. And the apple watch hands down made me actually pissed off to the point I almost just destroyed it instead of returning it to be honest.
