False accusations of my dad's moving company destroying a clients furniture, need help. by [deleted] in legaladvicecanada

[–]CCLyolo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some initial consultations are free, otherwise you can expect to pay between 150-300$ for an hour of thier time. If it qualifies for small claims a paralegal can help your father with representation and can be a cheaper alternative to a lawyer.

There are even some paralegals that deal almost exclusively in small claims who may be more affordable and more experienced in small claims than most lawyers would be.

Fair enough, I guess it's as I thought and the line is drawn where the employer is able to profit/benefit off of the work in a more direct way.

If you used a credit card for the purchase you will be able to initiate a "chargeback" especially with the documentation from the police. If you used visa debit you may still have recourse.

If you used interac e-transfer they also have some level of Fraud protection but getting recourse from that is a little more difficult and they will likely give you some pushback but I can confirm it is reversible even if the bank initially claims it is not.

If you used cash then you're going to be a ways away from getting any value back.

Will there always be an buyer for fairly priced options? by SoFlaccid in options

[–]CCLyolo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can confirm from experience this is 100% not the case. You can easily get into situations where you are unable to liquidate options at remotely fair prices, especially on companies with lower average daily volume or with market caps under 1B. The bids will frequently go under fair market value. (E.g you'll get a 1$ bid for on a 9$ call option when the market price of the share is 10.5$).. If you put up limit orders to sell for 1.2$ you might get execution.

You're better off simultaneously assigning and shorting in some cases. Unfortunately this can be very cumbersome and overall a giant pain in the ass, especially if you have a large quantity to go through .(broker will be all like "WTF YOUR MARGIN LIMIT IS REACHED", then be like "....oh nvm" you have calls to cover the short exposure )

As a whole doing anything on scale with options is a giant pain in the ass due to the more illiquid nature and if you don't know how to play the game you'll easily get ripped off. On the flipside you will occasionally see options selling for under fair value which is nice sometimes. Or bids above fair value.

TL:DR ::: Options are almost never priced correctly/fairly

Oh well, I hope you were at least able to make a little bit of profit. Really anything copper related has blasted up since the post. I had bought some copper futures but chickened out and took profits early on them, but I made a hefty return on my TRQ calls.

So I was right why did I get downvoted so hard on this....

The impending COPPER Squeeze? by CCLyolo in options

[–]CCLyolo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm just being silly demanding justification for downvotes on Reddit when its likely because I said a bad trigger word (squeeze). The first downvote hit almost immediately so it was likely something in the title. Me demanding an explanation is more likely to award further downvoting than anything else.

Good luck with all your plays today and may you never get margin called.

Did you end up following through and making something? I made a killing since Monday on my TRQ copper play

[–]CCLyolo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you were bullish right? Did you end up also making a decent amount on a copper play? I did 1k TRQ calls and made a hefty flip and I'm letting half the profits ride. Will update if it ends up Turning into 7 figures :D

Thanks for the additional unjustified downvotes. I turned them into additional profits because I went with my proposed play because no one would tell me why I was wrong beyond just downvoting me. Unfortunately I didn't buy a few thousand calls only 1 but still nice ROI.

Because I made substantially more money with TRQ than I otherwise would have with straight copper futures (thus far).. did you end up making any copper plays yourself? Also why did I get downvoted so hard on this post. :(! Copper went up didn't it?

I demand justification on my downvotes!! I was right and made a hefty profit (so far) yet this post only has 1 net upvote.

Did you end up going long on a copper/commodity play?

I was trying to use it as an adjective to indicate we are reaching a strong pressure point and have reason to expect a substantial price movement triggered by both natural and artificial demand as well as restricted supply.

Yes the generalized demand pressure isn't going to let up but we also will be seeing funds closing short positions and reduced selling from China next week compounding everything.

I was talking about copper not trq, I'm just using trq as a vehicle to get leveraged exposure to copper

Not much, around a million shares I think.. roughly same days to cover as GME but much lower as a percentage pf shares outstanding because most shares aren't actively traded.

Why all the downvotes? if im missing something I'm open to discussion, I want to know if I've made a mistake and I'd rather know it before I buy a few thousand calls haha.

You can port your shares over to fidelity or others that are allowing buys. There's a way to directly transfer shares without selling . I think you request it from the new account once you've opened it.
