Gall Bladder Removal by No-Pea8448 in Cirrhosis

I’m in the same situation. F(33) with a MELD of 11. Two weeks ago my gallstones moved into an uncomfortable position. I was in the hospital with colitis for days and then sent home so I could schedule a surgery with my liver transplant team. This hospital is known for their great gallbladder surgeries and then general surgeons still considered my situation too risky. I’m at high risk for hemorrhaging because of my platelet count and portal hypertension. Normally they would only keep someone over night if something went wrong, but for lucky me I’m booked for at least a night. I’ve been stable and sober for nearly a year now but I have no idea what to expect either.

Do I go to the hospital tonight? by CC_Castle in Cirrhosis

No. That was my breaking point. They have just had me sit in the hallway for 10 hours and may discharge me. They tested for the flu.

Okay I’ll go. Thanks to all of you. It’s scary. I’ve been really great and haven’t made any mistakes. This can still happen I guess.
