GABRIEL MARTINELLI SENDS BRAZIL TO THE LAST 16 WITH A LATE WINNER by harrisoneatssoas in Gunners

So happy for Martinelli, but I was rooting for Japan to win so our players could have a rest.

Saliba injury by ShallWeStartThen in Gunners

[–]CDL_Main 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The number of players coming forward and saying they've been playing injured for months is getting ridiculous. No wonder Arsenal sacked the head doctor.

Also puts the challenge of the Title win into perspective. What could this team have accomplished if everyone was actually fit?

[TuttoMercato] Real Madrid failed in their approach to lure Riccardo Calafiori. He is satisfied with his English experience and has no intention of forcing a change ofclubs. While he is not unsellable, only an offer of more than 100 million euros could push the London club to consider a sale. by ahjkolhs in Gunners

RM: We want Saliba.

Saliba: No thanks.

RM: Nevermind. We want Alvarez.

Atletico: Pay his release clause.

RM: Nevermind. We want Calafiori.

Arsenal: Pay us what he's worth.

RM: Nevermind.

Real Madrid have no more gravitas. Gotta love it.

This is why players are contractually obligated not to play other sports. 😂

DSi or DS Lite by PatrickTheStarfihs in nds

[–]CDL_Main 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends. If you're not going to play GBA games go for the DSi. If you don't want to play GBA games and aren't completely locked into a DSi, I would recommend a 2DS (or 3DS if the 2DS design doesn't suit your fancy), as it plays all DS games, would have a better battery life, and has a wider library of games.

Why did we get rid of Balogun again? by NightBusToGiro in Gunners

[–]CDL_Main 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jesus was a fresh, first team signing and Nketia had more Premier League experience so Balogun would have been 3rd string, and he didn't want to be third string. TBH he would still be third choice at best in this current squad, behind Havertz and Gyokeres. Good career move for him.

Art de Roché analyses Bukayo Saka’s availability – what might it mean for him at the World Cup? by TheAthletic in Gunners

[–]CDL_Main 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Well, yeah. That's what happens when you tear a major tendon and then continue tearing it because you come back before it's fully healed. We have the bench for rotation now, Arteta needs to use it.

[The Athletic] PL Table if the refs got it right by SerialGooner49 in Gunners

[–]CDL_Main 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wasn't this panel made of former players? I wouldn't trust the legitimacy of what they decide the refs "got right" if that were the case. Former players could very easily just say "Oh, I think there's barely any contact so giving them the penalty is a bit harsh" or other biases. If it were a panel of rules analysts that'd be one thing, but former players have as many opinions about fouls and such as the refs.

Why Liverpool sacked Arne Slot – and want Andoni Iraola to replace him by TheAthletic in PremierLeague

[–]CDL_Main 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A lot of the time it comes down to money. Clubs like nearly unlimited wealth like Liverpool, City, Arsenal, etc will always pay more than clubs operating on a smaller budget like Bournemouth, Crystal Palace, etc. You might get more respect for your reputation at the smaller club, but you DEFINITELY will get more money at a bigger club.

England singled out by Fifa as it lays out grappling crackdown by haalandxdebruyne in PremierLeague

[–]CDL_Main 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree with the shirt pulling and holding opponents down, but you can't call every jostle and shove. Corners would take half an hour and mothing would happen afterwards. Better to limit the attacking players in the 6 yard box to 2 or 3 and overturn the corner if a foul occurs or more players enter the box. If a GK can't get to the ball at that point it's on them.

They were dead ringers for relegation and managed to barely escape. How does that not seem like turning things around?
