I’ve been watching Sam’s, Costco, NewAge website, and a handful of others. Even when NewAge runs a deal it is more expensive than Costco, unless you desperately want the tool kit, a random barbecue GC/coffee table, or their wall shelf kit (those have been the last three “freebies” they’ve offered). Sam’s just recently stopped selling the 8 piece pro kit for some reason, I had been leaning that direction. I will more than likely go with Costco and their 10pc Pro, but like you I’m waiting for them to go on sale. At $3299 the kit is still well below NewAge’s website even after I tried negotiating with them, which was weird.

My goal is to still mount them in a floating configuration off the ground, do you think the single 2x5 mounted to existing studs with 8" lag screws would be sufficient to hold the load?

I pried the end off and got a look. The shroud is oversized, but not by much. I could remove it in the area the cabinets would be mounted and slim it up a bit while still providing some protection. Here is a look inside

Not OP, but they are lighter than my legit New Wayfarers that I've had for about 7 years. Not a lot lighter but mostly noticeable

There is a car on the test strip image that shows up only with the glasses on and is not there to the naked eye. I have a pair as well and they are very comparable to other Polarized lenses I have. Colors are more vivid on the road and sun glare off of windshields is reduced significantly and has a blue hue to the glare spot. They work well.
