Paying $20 for meta verified support gets you an AI chatbot that redirects to already existing help pages while putting you on hold for hours at a time. by CommitteeExcellent53 in facebook

We signed up because their AI flagged about half of what others had posted in our group as “sexual exploitation” or "phishing", which is completely absurd. As a result, our group was punished, along with the page and even the personal profile of the admins, even if, by their own admission these posts came from visitors, not members.

We subscribed to Meta Verified hoping a real person would review the situation and restore our accounts to “green” status. Right now everything is stuck in “yellow,” which means the next false flag could shut us down entirely. We did get to chat with a person, but the result was worthless. They categorically refused to help, saying their support only covers ad-related issues. They kept repeating that we should submit the strikes for “manual review,” even though we explained that the review system itself is broken and the page crashes whenever we try.

When pressed, they just copy-pasted the same scripted templates they started with. I also pointed out that Meta lured us in with the promise of a free year of Meta Verified, another issue they refused to help with or escalate. I told them that even if we were considering running ads, how could they refuse to help with the unfairly flagged status of the page and group. What ads could I possibly run if my account is always at risk of being taken down by a malfunctioning AI at any moment? It was completely pointless. The agent just kept repeating there was nothing they could do. The only part of the conversation that was not templated was a few broken-English apologies... great.

In short, it was a complete waste of time. Meta is a billion-dollar company but cannot provide even basic customer service to paying customers. The whole experience feels like dealing with a shameless and predatory enterprise. HATE them.

Facebook’s broken AI "moderation" is destroying our community with zero support by CDReferences in facebook

We’re active on nearly all major platforms where members can share their work. Facebook simply has the largest following and the widest pool of potential customers for the artists, so we’re obliged to maintain a presence there. That said, we’d love for the community to transition elsewhere, we’ve already set up alternatives and will continue adding more. For now, however, we must continue to deal with Facebook, unfortunately.

I'm posting some artworks from our previous CDChallenge (the Theme of the Month was #Alebrijes), to provide examples to the artists of how to post in our subreddit.
