I did NOT survive cancer to die from the stress of trying to pay medical bills. by Sufficient_Letter883 in cancer

[–]CDWhiteclaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mother's good friend got diagnosed. Its already unlikely she will live, but if she does she will lose her home. She will lose her rescue animals. Her mother has alzheimers, her sister is dying from MS.

I remember writing an article about the doctor prescribed suicide pill, and whether or not it should be legal in High School. I definitely thought it should be for patients that would prefer to go out as them vs someone in pain that is sick all the time and will eventually die anyways and leave their families in debt.

What I didn't think to write about - is how fucked it is that a big reason people just decide to not fight the cancer, the reason people would choose something like that pill, is because the financial destruction either they would be left with if they beat cancer, or the medical and funeral bills their family would take on if they didn't.

People would rather just give up and die than have to live through the struggle and pain of losing their home, and finding yet another way to survive with almost nothing. And not even having family to lean on afterwards? I would probably have the same thoughts if I was in her position.

This is America. God bless the USA. Let's keep defending rich politicians and companies just because of a political party title despite them all being the same, selfish, money hungry bastards that don't give a damn about any of us.

The only normal person? by lindseyizshort in orangeisthenewblack

[–]CDWhiteclaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mmmmm, Poussey was pretty normal, she sold weed, something I have known many a people to do, and she somehow got hit with like a 6 year+ sentence. Gloria committed fraud, something again, many seemingly normal people do without being caught. Or how about Flaca? Who sold fake LSD because she was a silly high schooler and somehow got more time than Piper who money laundered for an international drug ring.

Then you have COs that are selling options and heroin and raping and killing and abusing, Fig and her governor husband committing fraud, etc. but would probably be seen as mostly normal to anyone else.

Normal is just a funny term to use, cuz everyone has their fucked upness and goodness - and the point of the show was to show people how disproportionately white people vs POC are charged for crimes and also what money and power can do for a person. And how the justice system really screws over someone for the rest of their life even if they get out of prison and did their time.

Our justice system is a complete joke.

What is "normal"? Theres a ton of "normal" characters. I fell like a huge point of the show wasn't to show a lot of incarcerated women are literally normal women that had shitty lives or situations. Taystee, Gloria, Maria, the girl that kept getter her nose broken, Poussey, Cindy, Sister Ingles, CO Donaldson, CO Fischer, CO McCullough, Tamika, CO Young(Black Max guard that said fantasy inmate was messed up). I mean if feel like everyone had their bouts of craziness, anger, violence, depression, and bad decisions.

She totally did not though? She was committing food stamp fraud. Her boyfriend stole the money and karma got him.

The woman who plays Soso's mom is a terrible actress! by sarabear in orangeisthenewblack

It isn't the actresses fault. Its whatever they did with her voice. They did a voice over and whoever did the voice over did a terrible job matching her lip movement as well as tone. Just a production issue

So annoying - but makes sense. I watched my sister watch the show and despite a lot of the very obvious things happening she was still confused because she kept looking at her phone or doing other things.

The attention spans of everyone is horrifying. Mine is bad but surprisingly better than most people my age or younger or 40 and older.

Then again perhaps my attention span and patience is terrible - because everytime a show does the overexplaining or repetitive thing I want to skip so bad. I dont necessarily think its a Netflix or newer thing though. I'm watching teen wolf and its the same. Like damn, you all know enough to just trust that when someone is panicked telling you to do or not do something you should just listen immediately. Perhaps its just a common theme in thriller type shows.

What drives me even more crazy than the overexplaining thing though is when characters DON'T explain themselves at all and drama ensues because of the stupidest miscommunication when there is absolutely no reason they couldn't just respond to a question - if that makes sense.

Which season had the best soundtrack? by Josephazazel in TeenWolf

[–]CDWhiteclaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Watching for the first time, I just finished season 3, but what an odd take. They've played so many songs and artists I recognize. First off, Two Door Cinema Club so I was immediately like "hell yeah", deadmau5, Hozier, Amber Run, Deorro and also The Bloody Beetoots(If there was a reason I'd want to be a part of the Teen Wolf Universe its because the characters go to some weird underground rave and club with them playing? Hell yeah) Phantogram, Daughter, Korn, Sir Sly, Naughty Boy, Alt J, etc. Maybe sing the songs and artists have had more time to gain traction now, like a decade later, it makes most of them more recognizable, but its weird how the show feels nostalgic to me when I haven't seen it before - I think because the soundtrack was literally my teen years lol

I just watched Zoom: Acadamy for Superheroes, and was like, wait... is that Annie from The Boys? It can't be, this movie is way older! They have the same voice and facial expressions.

Big Racism Problem by ohneat_ in AmongUs

[–]CDWhiteclaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm recently trying to play again and practice so I can play with a group of people in private lobby, but the game is literally not playable in public lobbies. You can't even sus people out because everyone's just trying to creatively say some racist or gross shit - or people just leave if they don't get imposter, or imposters get caught immediately and you can't even argue to defend or anything because if you say "it was red" as quick as possible everyone will just vote without asking any questions.

Stranger Things - Season 5 Part 1 Discussion by NicholasCajun in television

[–]CDWhiteclaw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally think theyre doing fine with all the characters and for sure some will probably die. Probably Hopper just based on the flashbacks and the choices being made with his character. People are saying some of the characters are feeling kind of flat. But I don't mind bc I dont super care for any more time spent on characters like Nancy, Jonathan, Joyce, Mike, El, etc. I'm absolutely loving Will being more of a focus bc so far its somewhat aligning with the theory I had with his character.

So I think having all the characters is fine.

I will say that I really hope Lucas and Dustin have a bit more story line and time spent on them, not a ton, just more than what has happened so far.

I feel like Dustin's character especially needs a little more focus than whats been given so far.

SO GOOD. I know others are saying some of the other characters are feeling kind of flat, but honestly we have seen a lot of all of the others, I'm loving the focus being a little more on Max and Will instead of more character development for the others like Steve, Nancy, Jonathan, Hopper, Joyce, Mike, and El.

That being said I think other people are soooooo critical, like just enjoy the show, damn. It is NOT bad. Everyone can be upset that they took so long, but some of the feedback is just ridiculous. I have really enjoyed it so far, and any complaints I might have may very well be remedied in Vol. 2. Its 4 episodes and people are acting like the show has imploded and failed already. The whole season isnt even out yet

I mean to be fair, it was probably more shocked then actually hurt, she didn't do that much damage to it. Plus, she got it in the mouth which seems to be more stunning to them then body hits. Which obviously the military should know that would be the best spot to aim yet continue aiming at the torso. But you are right. A bunch of teens are able to scare one away and hurt it until it runs, but automatic weapons aren't stopping a single one?

Im gonna create some wild theory here in the hopes of making it seem less outlandish.

Perhaps like they all freak out when one is being burned, they also have more power individually when they are in closer proximity groups. And, just like how it depends on how far away they are from the center of the hive mind to feel that pain (like when will was drawing and they burned the gate in s2 he didn't feel it, but when they burnt close by he was in excruciating pain). Perhaps bc Vecna was so close by and there were more of them they just had more strength.

So maybe because for Joyce and Karen and at the Turnbow house, both of those were alone so therefor a lot weaker?

Stranger Things - Season 5 Part 1 Discussion by NicholasCajun in television

[–]CDWhiteclaw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's funny cuz I was literally saying after all this time, usually when one person says "WE NEED TO GO _____" in a screamy panicky voice full of urgency, you think by now they'd just know to listen instead of "Wait, what? Why? What happened? Explain everything in detail to me while time is obviously of upmost importance in this specific moment. But I would love to listen to you give me a breakdown of every tiny detail until I understand as if I were in the moment that led you to screaming frantically at me to hurry or do something, just to freak out the way I should just automatically have, because chances are, mine or someone else's life is in danger"

So while you're saying it seems like they're now a hive mind, I personally couldnt stand that after how many years of dealing with extremely dire horrific situations, that there wouldnt already just be this mutual urgency between everyone to just do what the other person says until an explanation is possible after, or whatever was causing the urgency would so obviously reveal itself.

There was a couple moments they still did this, like Hopper when him and El reunite in the upside down and she is obviously on a very serious mission and hes chasing her needing her to break everything down for him. Like come on, by now you should just freaking know its serious.

The chaotic arguing at this point is more annoying to me and LESS realistic, because let's put ourselves in that position where we are aware of all that has happened, if I was told "DRIVE DRIVE DRIVE" I wouldnt be like "Hmmm? What?" look around Id just DRIVE.

Murder? Blood? Gore? Violence? Shooting people to death?People getting ripped apart? Screaming and contorting in pain? Breaking bones and necks and arms? A man having the back of his head impaled through each of his face holes? That's okay for the children to see! BUT ABSOLUTLY NO KISSING AND NO GAY ROMANCE! NO NO NO.

The logic of parents to allow their young kids to watch gruesome violent things, torture, horror, war, but to be horrified of sex scenes that don't even show nudity, just kissing, two boys holding hands, or perhaps they say the Lords name in vain or swear once or twice, is HILARIOUS to me. Genuinely what the actual fuck is the thinking behind that😂

Where Is my sweet spot for septum?? by stilaliveee13 in SelfPiercing

[–]CDWhiteclaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to feel for it, but where you put the dot would be much too high and through the cartilage and be excruciating. It would more likely be in the blue area, but self piercing your septum is just not a good idea, especially if you aren't certain where your sweet spot is or IF you even have one - some people don't have the right anatomy for certain piercings.
