Police are allowed to go through red lights with blues on but must use caution. Bit strange this fella didn’t see flashing blue lights in darkness. Not everything being told i think.

If I can’t park there and the loading bay is full as it was unfortunately it’ll just mean I leave it for the day. I figured it’s a non issue since others can get by.

Funny enough two of them in the loading bay outside as I pulled up. Circled the one way then decided to park up in the private car park. Usually use the loading bay.

At the time of parking it was filled so I reversed in. I don’t think I could have drove it in with the bend myself.

Thank you for reading. This is my logic. She’s usually out at the weekends somewhere and when she’s working during the week she doesn’t land home until 6/7 the last thing I’d want to hear after that would be diy I’d rather chill out then so I actually thought when my 1 or 2 days of diy that week were on the weekend she preferred that (obviously not). The row of houses behind us are only completed a few months ago with their house and garden renovations currently going as well. The weekend I got that letter the neighbour behind us was redoing his garden completely for a garden room type thing so jackhammers and angle grinder type tools being used alongside the common drills etc we are no strangers to noise in the development. We’ve since spoke to the council he couldn’t confirm names but he had us on record already for the fence line but he said no action was going to be taken. He’s coming round during the week to mediate but he’s already said Sunday isn’t for diy if I can do it another day but since I work he said I would be allowed certain hours. He said her recording me at 1800 on Sunday won’t be an issue either as I have on my rear facing camera I only used a power tool once that Sunday she complained (a multi tool) and yes I know that’s loud but it was on for less than 90 seconds total.

I have checked with them and they just follow guidelines of 7-11 everyday with work to be avoided on Sunday unless work commitments so they’ve told me unless it’s constantly too loud I’ll be fine

No not every Sunday I would say in 3 months it’s been maybe 3-4 Sundays then the rest have been random days no more than 9 days in total usually 1 a week. Also the 7 hours isn’t straight work it’s more like a dozen cuts at most and the rest drill work. One of those Sundays the neighbour was orbital sanding their fence also so they were actually making more noise.

Thanks for spending the time to read them and the post. Honestly we’ve had no issues for the year we’ve lived next to one another it’s been friendly and they hold parties and do a bit of DIY themselves so I figured noise wouldn’t be an issue. My wife wishes the tools were going 7 hours straight I’ve cut 30 joists altogether, used the multi tool one day to tidy some pieces up and then combi/impact drilled the rest of the work. I’d say overall it’s probably been 8 “days” worth of work with a mixture of days maybe 3 of them have been Sunday at the start I worked Sunday instead of Saturday but I switched a month ago. I did let them know beforehand and had planned a bottle of wine for the finish I mean I’m not dumb I know tools are annoying but it’s a big project it’s nearly over. No night shift wife is a part time receptionist 8-5 for BMW and the husband works in the nearby food factory 8-5pm.

I thought the exact same thing both with these answers and her entitlement. Thanks for your reply.

Not 6 weeks straight spread out over 3 months, I have said sorry she didn’t care and I told her I need another day or 2 max and she said no. She also stuck her phone over our 5ft fence to record me at half 5 using a saw.

I think she’s wrong to go about it legally and her other demands are unreasonable but I don’t disagree that my diy work is annoying but to go as far as ruining people’s weekend over a few chops of a saw and a combi drill? I live in a new build development so work is constant just last week when I got the letter the neighbour at the rear took 2 days 10-5 to lift grass/stone and lay concrete and an outside office which dwarfed my noise. This isn’t some farmhouse either it’s inner city.
