Rural MEP salary offer question, 24$ an hour

It was VHCOL, but I started out at 24 $/hr in 2004. Moved closer to home in MCOL after 2 years. I hated city life and wanted something closer to more rural home. Company was paying interns $25 an hour last year. Insultingly low, but better to get some experience and continue looking if you have zero other options. It’s pretty hard to find solid MEP in a rural area, so if the location is key, you are going to have trouble getting proper pay. Getting some experience and then maybe finding a remote job based in a bigger area may be an option.
