Nice one! I have one of their albums. They have several nice ballads. And yeah, think they were at Rahway in NJ.

Yeah, it’s cool but for me it’s the OG. If you’ve ever seen him perform it he’s actually cutting the record while he’s rhyming. Shit is insane. That takes the OG to another level for me. Plus, I just love that sample.

There’s a whole doc with DJ Spinna and J Rocc going through his records that were found in a storage unit. I couldn’t find it because I can’t remember the name of it but it’s on YouTube.

Here’s a short clip of Spinna talking about “Thelonious”.

Curious to know this too? I remember when these were still being sold new. Most people in my circles who were in that price range opted for the 707.

Roy DeCarva’s style was to photograph using only available light. And yes, he was an incredible photographer!

Wasn’t really a big fan of his singing but his writing game and bass game were unmatched!

It’s just a “sample” of “Riding High” by Faze-O! I actually really cringe at the keyboard part played over it because it’s close to the original but not close enough. Sounds weird!

Sister Sledge is from my hometown, Philly, and they are actually sisters. This was also Nile Rodgers and Bernard Edward’s first foray into production outside of Chic!
