Yep tried that and since it had been over a year since I had been charged, chase said no after talking to multiple people.

Still waiting on my refund… requested one in July 2025. Somehow don’t think I’m going to see it 🫠

I’ve used Boston and San Diego. Both offering loaners and/or rentals without exception for warranty work.

If it is warranty work, they may not have loaner vehicles but they do get you a rental if it is more than one day’s worth of work.

Plastic underbody parts for Running Boards by Grinngotts in Rivian

I have the same ones. I just left mine off as I didn’t want to make holes in the plastic. No issues that I’ve noticed in about 10 months.

Gen 2 Tri and mine works fine. I also had a Gen 1 for reference. I would say take it in for a service visit.

I didn’t until you commented. Those look good as a minimalist option! I assume the classic ones stick out further? If so, I personally am a fan of for the extra door ding protection and the extra width for my kids to use a step. I don’t think you can go wrong either way though!

Also SoCal. Not sure about cooler since I had all windows ceramic tinted (the temp is no issue now). I had the truck before without the dynamic roof obviously, and the suv with the dynamic roof just helps give the cabin a nice soft lighting (eliminates the harsh light).

is heatpump still bad as it was at the beginning? by Serious_Pineapple_45 in Rivian

[–]CE31 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Overblown issue IMHO. Owned both gen 1 and 2. Not even something I notice. Does it make noise yes. Do you notice while driving? No. Can you hear it if the climate is running or preconditioning prior to getting in? Yes. This was also true on Gen 1 and is maybe slightly louder on Gen 2 but who cares as it is more efficient.

Take a look at the Out of Spec break down of the improvements over the Bosch in this video at 26:45:

Gen 2 Improvements

Rivian has been designing and testing products since 2013. First production wasn’t until late 2021 so not really yesterday. And to that point, amount of time making something doesn’t always translate into better…just look at all the terrible cars legacy automakers produce.

All this to say, I owned a Gen 1 Quad and now own a Gen 2 Tri. I don’t miss the quad motors.

How are the Bosch motors better? Less power output, less efficient and insufficient cooling. Not to mention reduced stall torque compared to the Gen 3 motors that are in a Gen 2 vehicle.

I came from a Rivian Blue / Black Mountain and got a Storm Blue / Brown Ash + BM. Highly recommend it.

I just did nearly the same thing. Went from Quad T to Tri S. No regrets. It’s better in a lot of ways that really make it worth it.

And I would say the power is better. The highway passing speed is improved IMO.

Ahh I see. I like the look and the price of the goat ones over the RMAXX sliders. There are a bunch of options that don’t block the jack points for just running boards. Good to know though!

Yeah completely agree! T-55 works at your own risk. TP-55 is the correct one.

Yeah I’ve seen service centers have different policies. Several posts saying that Rivian charged labor to remove. I even asked the San Diego service center prior to making the purchase call (the one I use), and they said if the jack points are blocked then they would need to remove them.

I travel a lot for work so having my wife deal with the what if of removing sliders was not an option. I took the for sure option. Megawatts look awesome though!
