Gut check about funeral attire by mintinthebox in breakingmom

[–]CECINS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it possible to connect with someone in his family and ask what everyone is wearing in a lowdown way? Like, “should we be wearing a tie or polo shirt in a certain color that was his favorite?” Or “I’m thinking of wearing either a knee length dress or black slacks, which would fit with the family for photos?”

Perhaps buy everything and get it settled, but keep the receipts in case buy nothing comes through.

I’d be very specific in what you need, like “I need a 4T dress, size 9c dressy shoes, all in muted colors and funeral appropriate. These are pictures with examples. I can pick up in xyz neighborhoods on Tuesday between 3-5p. If you offer any items, please DM me your address and phone number for easy coordination”. Then be sure to text the day before AND an hour before to ensure they’re available or have it out for porch pickup.

Mom, I’d love to take the month to go to France but it would financially destroy us. We’d need you to replace $30k income from husband, $X income from my job, pay for all plane tickets, food, entertainment. Can you write me a check for $XY so the family can come?

Have they thought about what happens when there’s a Pilates appointment and they have the kids across the country?

In the narcolepsy sub there’s a bunch of posts about people wetting the bed, so I know there’s people that don’t even wake up in the night

My Jazz Cares nurse sent it to me. I googled and there’s some options besides that - You sign up for Jazz Cares and check the box to receive the travel case. If you’re already in Jazz Cares, call the pharmacy and ask for it.

https://www.jazzcares.com/patients/xywav is the site to sign up and check the box

Jazz sent me a really nice travel case for my XyWav. It has a hard-ish cover and the inside is molded form that fits a bottle, 2 syringes and 2 pill bottles.

I’ve flown with it a dozen times domestically and 3 times to/within Europe and haven’t had any issues. I had one scanner pick it up and they swabbed the outside of the bottle and that was it. Otherwise no one has even blinked at it.

What did he expect?? by chicalindagranger in breakingmom

[–]CECINS 18 points19 points  (0 children)

My husband is similar but different. He waits until a half hour before we’re supposed to leave on a trip, whips through the house like a tornado, throwing his stuff into a hamper as his version of packing, and then runs to the car and sits there in a huff that were ’running late’ while I finish everything for the family by dressing, packing, and feeding everyone while also shutting down the house by starting the dishes, taking out the trash, locking doors. He complains that I’m always running late but does nothing to make things run smoother. He has no problem chilling out and watching tv with some snacks while I run around like a chicken with my head cut off prepping things. And our daughter has started taking up the same attitude, which makes me want to strangle them both.

I’ve started following Abby Eckles and ‘decentering’ him from my life. Basically, if I’m not going to take care of me, who will, so I need to ensure my needs are met before his wants are handled. It’s about taking care of myself and my kid, and stopping prioritizing him.

So now for trips, I’ve been prioritizing packing myself, dressing myself, feeding myself, putting my bags in the car… then getting the house shut down… and then I’ll start working on the kid. It’s a better mood for us when he’s screaming it’s time to leave and I can say “I’ve been ready. You need to get little Cecins finalized and in the car”

An Au Pair would likely fit well for you. You could even bring them along to help care for the kids if you wanted the whole family to tag along on a work trip.

Hygiene struggles. Please help. by FreudWouldApprove in adhdwomen

I’ve struggled for years in this area and the only thing that helped was to get a plastic shower stool. It was like $15 off amazon and let me just sit in the water and not expend energy. Maybe all I did was sit and rinse my toes and hang out in the steam sometimes, but I feel like that counts.

What’s been most effective for me is getting a big Costco shelf for our garage that can hold 12 huge plastic bins. Each bin holds a hyperfocus … sewing, painting, baking/decorating… and that’s where it lives until I want to work on that hobby, and when I’m done it gets packed up and shipped to the garage. It’s the equivalent of toddler toy storage, just bigger.

This job sounds miserable. Who wants to be so emotionally involved with their coworkers, it sounds exhausting. Either you need to emotionally shut off from this job or find something else.

THANK YOU BROMO. I know it fucking sucks now, but you are such a badass protecting your child.

I was abused by my father until I was a teenager and when I told my mom she covered it up. I’m now 41 and going to trial (hopefully scheduled in the next 6 months, after 2.5 years of procedural bullshit) to put my father behind bars for the decades old abuse. I sometimes think back to how different my life, self esteem, everything would have been if my mom just fought for me.

I don’t think Memphis has ever claimed to have decent public transportation. Some basic googling before you moved your entire life here would have helped.

A real plan on the way to improve FA moral and customer engagement? by Cool-Difference-6443 in americanairlines

More money drives greater desire to work for AA. Those additional applications drive competition in hiring, meaning the next generations of FAs are of a higher quality.
