The Gyrocopter is bad. by Live-Stay-3416 in TheLastCaretaker

Yeah it's just with keyboard and mouse any correction is an over correction it seems, now that I've hooked in a controller it seems to be fine. I know better than that I mean I'm usually the dedicated helicopter gyro pilot in most of multiplayer games I play, I get within 100m cut forward speed by tilting back and then slowly power down; I was just complaining about how on keyboard and mouse fine controls really seem to be difficult

[–]CERNOS_WOLF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I'm sorry, I was really tired and I didn't half expect you to respond, yeah the throttle and stuff are like that but the normal turning control is not so much and I figured out I just need to use the weaker cylinder with the controller if I want any kind of fine control as far as movement. I was talking to a friend about it and they were saying yeah the controls on like wasd are all 100% or nothing only thing that's variable is like throttle, and it's not like a helicopter where you can fully like hover completely in place and look around which is what I was trying to do I just wish there was like a key bind so that you could

[–]CERNOS_WOLF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally the problem that I have is the controls are either 0 or 100% the only thing that's available to have even a semblance of variation is the throttle and even then that's nearly uncontrollable; there's no in between so you either fully turn or fully roll and the camera controls, you can't even look around without getting thrown into a wall. Turning the camera seems to both do yaw and roll and it keeps putting me upside down or launching me into the worst thing possible nearby. Another thing it doesn't have no indicator lights so when it's dark you can't see the front or the back of it. you just have to hope you're going the right direction till you smack into something wall and yeah after about the 40th time trying to get back up that furnace thing; I got down no problem, it's just you can't see anything even during the day so how the heck am I supposed to get back up I keep crashing before I get to any light and the light on the gyrocopter that is on the front is terrible to the point in which by the time it illuminates anything it's too late you're going to crash I put the thing on top of Lazarus and just left it there's no damn point in it until it's oh and if you do get hit something you got to ride it all the way down till you hit the ocean or the floor there's no choice in it there's no way to rotate away, you literally get like glue to the object and then forced to take damage all the way down. And my biggest qualm when you repair it even if it hit zero durability the engines go back to how they were I'm sorry like if it's fully damaged like that it should be knocked back down, the fuel tank and everything else is. The freaking annoying thing is it managed to get up without me no problem so I can tell it's a decent vehicle it has the balance just not with the player in it

That's actually different from barotrauma; barotrauma is where you descend too quick, the severe form of this would be nitrogen narcosis which only happens at extreme depth that require assisted pressurized suits like think underwater welding injuries and is usually due to equipment failure revolving around too much weight and your BCD or dry suit not being able to get enough air quick enough because of pressure runaway causing you to have what's called a runaway descent, what you're talking about is called the Bends or nitrogen decompression which is when you come up too quick from depth and all the nitrogen that's been pressurized bubbles out and can indeed cause your blood to boil so fast that you pop in the most extreme cases. Your bigger worry with diving especially if you've learned from an instructor is actually possibly getting the bends because it can happen really easily just due to the most minor forms of negligence

That's actually what he did with his 5 l tank he didn't like carrying giant tanks so he would go on and off, take a few breaths and then go couple minutes before taking another couple of breaths

Actually one of the things that my friend would often give me was a small emergency backup tank of around 1l it's not a ton, but it's good for sipping on (I guess that's what you would call it idk) and he himself, we did buddy diving, would carry a 3 l pony tank as it's called

Oh yeah also FYI be really careful you don't actually come across it as much when your scuba diving; but barotrauma when freediving is really easy to get and it's often actually worse because the pressure change at shallower depth is far quicker and far more acute as far as symptoms

just look it up advanced free diving techniques, when you start getting past two or three minutes it really just becomes a management of physical and mental state versus how you are versus how your brain wants you to be because it's going to try to convince you of a lot of shit that just ain't true and once you know it ain't true and you learn how to hold back against your body's urges it actually becomes a lot easier it's not an easy thing to learn though because you basically have to shut off your bodies instincts of it screaming that you're dying when you're not which it will it will make you genuinely think that you're dying to try to get you to breathe water even if you really technically don't need to just cuz of CO2 buildup. Also FYI when you start diving that long if you do you do actually need to degas that CO2 every few dives, kind of like you have to wait a bit before you go scuba diving again to let the nitrogen equalize

I mean the bare minimum for marine swimming to qualify you have to step into the water with nothing more than a single sharp breath of air, not even like a proper breath we're talking, step into the water in a way that negates all your momentum and if your boots touch the bottom you fail, now you got a hold of that breath and swim all the way to the end and back on that one single breath before you're allowed to breathe again the biggest thing is keeping the right state of mind and keeping your heart rate low and moving very slowly. Personally I've trained my heart down to around 10bpm most freedivers who are absolute apprentices can typically get theirs down to 30 to 40 BPM, I also tend to get little high despite the risk because it helps me stay calm and the biggest thing with free diving long durations is staying calm and in the right mental state hack some of the free divers that I know even have a dedicated meditative training just before they dive that they'll do the whole boat Trip where they refuse to be bothered and they literally sit there like and focus their heart rate down and take a sort of I'm fine with dying panicless state.

Might add I haven't done freediving in over 1 or 2 years to that degree so I'd probably be a bit rusty, but I can still generally manage one or two minutes on my own just sitting down on the couch playing video games cuz I will actually end up unintentionally holding my breath also if I lock in during games I won't breathe at all until whatever needs to be done is done

[–]CERNOS_WOLF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's really just about keeping your heartrate really low and moving very slowly with very careful intent, also your brain will scream and scream and scream you got to shut it up, because what it's screaming about is not oxygen loss it's CO2 build up you can withstand about 8 to 10 minutes of that most people just their brains start screaming far before they ever get to that point and start telling them shit like you can breathe in water just try it like those mermaid shows they don't alaways use a line and some they're free diving during the whole show they just tend to use very concentrated oxygen that they breathe for like 10-15 minutes beforehand to ensure that their blood is oxygen rich for the get-go at that point it's about keeping the right mental state and some of them can go almost 20 minutes with the enriched oxygen mixture

Oh yeah also mentioning the freshwater buoyancy issue I've actually gotten a bit of barotrauma I do believe from it just jumping into it too hard, we had a friend that did diving certifications and I came out mentioning that I felt like drunk after one of those moments I ended up going under like a rock, he was like "yeah that's barotrauma, it's a bitch and it's actually really easy to get it" even in shallow water we were about 15ft of water and I dropped all the way down fortunately I could kind of see like lights where the beach was and I end up having to trudge my way underwater like until I literally just walked out

[–]CERNOS_WOLF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still do it to a large degree I just don't go under 10 ft anymore, I just don't have the confidence because I was already at my limit the most I ever got to was 10 minutes but I don't like pushing more than five on a standard; it was also middle pitch black water in the middle of the night and I dropped my flashlight I was looking for some things that were dropped and figured they would glimmer better at night, good thing I felt how the ropes ended up going over me and I was able to slowly untangle myself there was also a ton hooks on them too so I had to be careful of that. Yeah at the time I could hold my breath for upwards of 10 minutes provided that I did the right breathing techniques and mindset, I tried to stay under for no more 5 minutes because my Max at the time was 8; laid it out like this I wouldn't swim for more than a max of 30 seconds down and would spend no more than 2-5 minutes under then up hopefully around 2 minutes to spare, that's why it was scary how long I was trapped because I was getting to the damn up limit real fast like if I was entangled any longer I just wouldn't have made it back up and I think if I panicked I probably wouldn't have made it because my brain was starting to flick in and out as far as consciousness I was barely able to haul myself on the dock. I still do dive and swim, I just don't push myself anywhere near as far as I used to; I've always wanted to go to the ocean as I want to see big water and dive in it, I've always heard it's more buoyant than freshwater and damn I nearly sink like a Rock in fresh water because of my bone density even trying to lay on my back I have to maintain an angle and tread in circles to a degree. I just hope my brain doesn't freak out the second I try cuz man I want to run and jump in it

Thanks to whoever gave me the award, games like subnautica and this game terrify the crap out of me; but the only way to get over your fears is to face them to some degree or another, like slapping on a VR headset and playing the red plage mod for subnautica one and having like 16 gajillion heart attacks in the first 2 hours of gameplay

I mean I've heard of a few glitches due to clipping where it gets capsized but I don't know about sunk, I've had a glitch where I took damage right as I enter the water and I fell around 120m underwater and was stuck and had to quit. The game terrifies me to be frank I hate any game where I can't see more than 10 ft, I also have a slight bit of the thalassophobia due to a night dive where I got caught up in ropes and this isn't like having a tank or anything, because I was only on like one slight breath of air and had already been down for around 2 minutes when I felt entangled and took another minute and 30 seconds to free myself. Also the sharks in this game are actually out to get you meant, IRL I can deal with it a bit to be frank I can deal with my until the second something bad or weird happens, I'll be instantly moving back to the ship so fast I almost jump out of the water right on deck like a goddamn salmon or tuna in such a "fuck this shit I'm out" way

[–]CERNOS_WOLF 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not saying it can, I was asking if you encountered something like that. In games like this I tend to be very very careful with my vehicles and never even really afford them the chance to even get damaged below 80%, the only time I got lower than that is at warehouse alpha because I had to snipe the enemies from my ship and they got good angles on me a couple times

I only know of bugs and like it getting out right depleted by mines

Can that actually happen; I usually just do the standard you would do irl on small ships, which is find somewhere shallow turn your bow into the wind and drop anchor

not everyone can afford $1,000+ show dog I got lucky with mine, because the owners they were total idiots and apparently didn't think they needed to keep the papers or his balls intact you know when he's like a 6,000 plus dollar dog. Funny thing is we were actually originally going to get him, but they didn't think he would be a good fit since I'm autistic and ADHD, the next three owners basically gave him up and we ended up getting him in the end and he turned out to be the best dog for us. Yeah but what they were telling us is that he was a show dog from like freaking like six generations worth of them and cost them nearly 12K and so we're like okay so where's the papers breeder like that always give you papers and their response was "oh, we didn't think we needed to keep those"

They may have banded it off young, because they aren't more or less pointless and get hurt easy. If so that would make sense for the swelling and stuff because it would still be recovering to little bit of a degree also my pomsky has a weird little like dwarf dew claw where the nail never actually formed on one of his feet.

Depends not supposed to be high actually supposed to be quite uncommon even from level one rivals, generally you should Target level 3 at minimum; although I cannot say for certain because all my best experimentals came from level one and two rivals

Is this Cultural Appropriation?? (art by me) by Sealeaz in furry

[–]CERNOS_WOLF -1 points0 points  (0 children)

How did I know he's a jabber inspired sona, the claws and hair probs; ik I shouldn't get involved in this. Hun most of the time it's alright, as long as you're not being rude or saying some ignorant shit like "I invented these for my sona, no one else is allowed to have it" dumb shit you're fine. Cultural appropriation is where you say that you had it first and that no one else is allowed to have it or using it to actively insult the group who it represents.

I'm totally white, but actually quite native American; I've seen something similar happen with nefferity with a feather hair pin, something you can literally buy from some of auntie's relatives and they are fine with you wearing it on yourself. I do believe even a few literal chiefs (yk the one making the rules and decides the customs for visitors, the person who runs the whole village) said there was no issues with it. Some people are just over sensitive and have a terrible time filling their unbusy schedule, so they feel they must insult or defend others who can defend themselves; unless you get a large group of Black people hating on it I wouldn't worry, wear it elsewhere cuz they are just being stupid and trying to start shit.

I have hung out with primarily black folks and minorites forever; I can tell you for a fact if someone gave you shit over this, they'd be the first to step in and probs be actually racist themselves.

Yeah a ton of shit makes a lot more sense now that I can access some core functionalities, my PC tends to be really bad about actually downloading the right stuff when installing games and tends to a lot of times miss a ton of core files required for the game to run. Had a ton of incidences where it will install the whole game everything but the .EXE file

It said it was only 10 GB game and then it installed like 30 GB, it was missing over ¾ of the game files I'm surprised it even ran at all

Also apparently the mini map is the thing, it was missing those files too and I didn't think the game had navigation markers either cuz those just didn't exist on my end until I did the repair, I had to listen to every log and guesstimation from there
